In games against FBS opponents, Minnesota finished 10th nationally in scoring defense (18.3 PPG), 14th in yards per play (4.7) and 19th in yards per pass attempt against (6.3).

Will turn our LBs into calculated assassins, which we haven’t seen in a minute.

Has experience working with DE’s as well, so should be able to get the whole front 7 on the same page. FCS coach of the year at JMU, only produced the 5th best Defense in America in his lone year to date at Minnesota. Massive talent deficiency up there as we all can presume, and yet his unit was very good in coverage (above a 85 on PFF). Relatively young (44) and hungry.

Close the deal Mario.

Hiring coordinators is always a crap shoot even the smartest football coaches in the world get it wrong. I’m not going to act like I know if this will be a good move or bad move. We have seen elite resumes fail and crappy resumes have success. The only thing you can do is take a wait and see approach.

His defenses don’t get beat by being out of position. Sound, smart and well coached.

I watch a lot of Gophers football, I thought they’d lose a step after Rossi went to Michigan State. I’d argue the defense was a lot better this year.

if this is the case, i don't want him. i prefer we plays games late into the fourth quarter only to need a miracle to win at the end. it is more funner that way.
