Miami has emerged as a contender for Washington State QB transfer John Mateer

As first reported by On3, Miami has emerged as a contender in the recruitment of Washington State star QB John Mateer. Oklahoma, the presumptive favorite, will host Mateer in Norman today.



Mateer was among the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation last season. He passed for 3,139 yards and 29 touchdowns while throwing just seven interceptions. Additionally, he led the Cougars in rushing, accumulating 826 yards and scoring 15 touchdowns.

Mateer looks a little like a mix between Gardner Minshew and Can Ward.

He's got some stuff in his bag for sure.

Wazzu gonna have to come with some heavy bags to keep him playing QB in Pullman next season.

This is a done deal to OU with the Off Coordinator and QB coach there….he’ll use miami to increase market but overall will waste our time. Miami has nooo chance here the coaches who earned his trust already in OU.
