Miami football opened its 2024 season with a dominant 41-17 win over Florida. The Canes looked elite in every phase of the game for all four quarters against an SEC opponent.

After their victory against Florida, the Canes climbed twelve spots to No. 11 in the FPI rankings. The previous week Miami was ranked No. 23.

Highest ACC team. Won't play a quality opponent until Louisville. Expect a lot of blow out games until then.

This is the real barometer for me. Good teams blow out lesser oppoents....and not 37-3 type scores. I always look at what the top teams do weeks 1 and 2. Score be 63-0 and **** like that.

If we finally play like those big teams and clean up our issues in the process....scores will be in that range and we can start developing the young kids.

This is a very favorable schedule to get the kinks out with.

I’m good with us at 11th, especially after being 23rd to start the season. Yes, we looked way more impressive than 1-2 other teams but keep the young men hungry and focused. After this stomping we need their eyes on the prize, particularly when it comes time for ACC play. These next 2 games we should wrap up easily in the first halves so we can work in depth and get the younger kids playing time.

This team needs to keep the foot on the gas pedal of focus. Too many times we've been up and down due to buying the hype.

I believe we'll get to at least #3 in the AP/Coaches polls before it's all said and done. The nice thing is - we don't have to worry about the press and petty rival coaches keeping us out ala 2000. If we don't take on more than one loss, we'll be in the playoffs.

And, unless we have multiple key injuries, I now believe that we'll be undefeated in the regular season based on seeing the team and and more importantly, Cam, play.
