Miami Falls to Wake Forest in ACC Opener

The University of Miami baseball team (12-7, 0-1 ACC) fell to the 14th-ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons Friday night at David F. Couch Ballpark, 8-0.

On the mound, Logan Lunceford (4-0) earned the win for Wake Forest (16-3, 4-0 ACC) after tossing seven shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out eight. Zach Johnston finished off the victory with two scoreless innings in relief.

What lies? All I said was to stop bashing him because it hurts recruiting. When you should be bashing the AD and the Rudy Fernandez for hiring him….. JD accepted the job like any one of us would have accepted the job. If you want to make change, recalibrate your anger and push it in the direction of the AD and Rudy Fernandez. One thing that it won’t do is hurt recruiting. Elite recruits make their decisions based on the opportunity to play for championships and get drafted. They aren’t swayed by a dozen fans on a message board.

Yup. It’s a shame. There was ZERO POINT ZERO indicators that JD would be a good hire. Zero. Not one thing. Not one single tiny aspect of it would make you think, “OK, this could work”. NOTHING could be argued to the fact he deserved this job.
