Miami and FIU push back future football series

This means that a certain coach who has as many 10 wins seasons as Charlie Weis, as many national championships as Charlie Weis, and one less BCS bowl appearance than Charlie Weis won't be coming back as soon as some people would like. Much to the sadness of canedynasty and duke4heisman.
 
I guess FIU plans on expanding their stadium in order to host UM and potentially other big programs, but needed more time to do it. Good for them finally taking football serious. Butch was a good hire. It's a start

Miami is the only Power 5 program that would agree to play a game at FIU.

Since a game nominally "at" FIU is really a home game for Miami I don't mind it that much. Playing on the road against Toledo and Arky State on the other hand.......

I think Duke and Luisville have both played at FIU. This year Maryland and Indiana played at FIU also. This is my first year there and as a grad student I'm not really too involved in their team. Plus they are terrible. But I'm glad they're trying to improve. UM is light years ahead, no need to hate on the little guy.

Like I said, no need to hate on the little guy. I remember having a math professor in undergrad, tell me that UM literally couldn't give away tickets while she was there in the late 70's early 80's. No one would show up. My uncle also graduated from the university and told me the same thing. We were once in their shoes. I wish them well, unless they play us.

These threads are going to arise more and more. Will butch Davis build them into miami 2001? No. But can he make them into an eventual pain in the *** if we don't assume ourselves as a national threat again? It's possible.

Some of the posters on this site are a bunch of ungrateful bustards. I'm not sure why anyone would wish I'll will for Butch Davis or FIU. The dude rebuilt our program. Respect that. Stop trying to make a point and respect the man gave us our success.

You should also be wishing Dennis Erickson the best as Assistant Head Coach at Utah. I hope Randy Shannon gets another head coaching gig too. I could never root for Florida to have success, but if Randy gets a promotion to another school that'd be awesome.

Wishing for these dudes to fail makes you look weak. Don't be a little bitcch.
 
Why would UM play FIU at all? The last time it ended in a fight that bashed the Canes on ESPN for months with endless replays of the debacle.
 
This will be the 2 seasons we will regret and probably be our only loss. Butch will coach his *** off.

Nobody roots for Butch to fail. We just get a little tired of canedynasty and duke4heisman endlessly talking about him.
 
It should be pushed back to never. And before the "play anyone anywhere" dolts trot out that schtick, please realize that was meant in reference to programs that people that reside north of Orlando could actually locate on a map of the United States. Playing these types of games provide ZERO benefit to us. You wanna do this nonsense then go play a directional school in a recruiting hotbed area that you'd like to tap.
 
Doesn't matter. We win by 30 anyways. Butch might not even be there if he does well from the start. Some average power 5 might come calling and offer the big bucks.
