I hate to even write this but I will anyway. The color commentator (don’t know who he was) was basically providing commentary for an FSU game and UM happened to be the opponent. He had to repeatedly stop talking about FSU to comment on a shot made by UM. He referred to the FSU center as “my guy McCloud (however it is spelled). both commentators were very excited for the FSU big guy and the guy who returned for an injury. In a 23 point game!
Watch the last play of the game. His commentary is that the FSU player Robinson is “still competing, and UM blocks the shot”. Sorry but it’s a bigger deal to block a shot up by 23 with 5 seconds to go that it is to take a shot down by 23. blocking the shot is the definition of competing. Taking the shot is the definition of trying to pad some points. Like the Syracuse player being blocked by Omier on the layup.
