Coaching Miami’s 2022 football staff

Something interesting regarding Hartley. Seems UGA announced pay raises for all offensive assistants except him.

From UGA 247

Several Georgia football coaches received significant pay raises entering 2022, including the Bulldogs' offensive coordinator.

Georgia provided information regarding its coaching staff on Wednesday as part of a response to an open records request.

Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Todd Monken is set to make $1.25 million this season, a raise of $150,000 from last year. Monken is set to enter the third year of the three-year contract he signed when he first arrived at Georgia.

Offensive line coach Matt Luke will make $900,000, running backs coach Dell McGee will make $800,000, and new passing game coordinator/wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon will make $700,000 this season.

Luke and McGee’s salaries are consistent with what the two received in 2021. McClendon’s salary was first announced on Feb. 3.

Monken, Luke, McGee, and McClendon are set to make a total of $3,650,000 in 2022. Tight ends coach Todd Hartley's salary was not included among the other staff members.

He was bumped up to $450K last season. He is the lowest salary on staff.

From one of their 247 guys on Hartley:

The highest paid TE coach last year without an additional title was Ted Gilmore at Michigan State. Made $500k. Highest paid TE coach who is not an OC but who has an AHC, Special Teams, or co-coordinator tag is Jeff Banks at Texas, at $1 million.

There is some talk on the board that Hartley could get the STC title and a pay bump up to as much as $750K.

UGA total on field salary pool was $7.025 million last year. They are at $6.9 without a DB coach to replace Addae and without a raise to Hartley.

Well to be accurate, he got a 50k bump last year but most of the staff also got raises as well. Lanning got 475k raise, Mcgee got 175k last year and another raise this year to 800k. Muschamp was hired as analyst at 300k and he now is making over 1.5mil.

Seems kind of a slap in the face to me. Dude got them three 5 stars (Washington, Gilbert, Bowers) at TE plus Jaheim Singletary from Jax and he getting by far the lowest amount on staff. Think the next lowest on field assistant is 700k..

Offer him 700k and if nothing else make UGA match.

So we just aren’t going to have a STs coach? Seems odd to me.
From what otehrs have said Dennis Smith would work with STs. There is a loophole that allows an off field coach to work with STs. I would imagine they also could add it as a title and additional duties to one of the on field coaches depending on who is hired. For example, Hartley has done it in the past so if he was hired as TE coach he could also be ST with Smith assisting.

I just want to see us have some legit coverage teams, or the occasional return. We literally block no one on returns. And it’s been bad for a while, Harley’s tenure included

Hartley was far better than Patke - in 2018 alone both Jeff Thomas and Deejay Dallas returned punts for TDs. He just was stuck with Feagles who was an awful punter.

Pair him with Dennis Smith and our Special Teams will be far better.

Just thought about how our QB coach was a HS coach when our RB was playing RB/S On opposite teams. Wonder if they had a chance to talk about that game yet or even remember. Lol

For a very long time every Miami staff had at least one position coach who was an alum. Could be the first staff without one in a while
