Watching these highlights really broke my heart. That 2008 class has soo much potential. If they would have had a coach with vision and an understanding what it takes to run a college program in the 2000s. Nutrition, Strength and conditioning, film study. That group of kids had so much natural talent that if Randy actually had them getting bigger and in shape they could have won 11 games even with Whipple calling the plays.

A few things:

1. I think the staff learned a lesson about the risk in hiring a first time HC.

2. I think you guys blame Whipple way too much for the failures in the offense.

3. Don't sweat this stuff, there is nothing we can do but go forward and succeed.

I'm not blaming Whipple we also had 3 garbage DC's in that time frame also.

I'm not beating a dead horse. I'm just saying that when I watch those highlights I feel badly for the Kids who came to MIAMI to become CHAMPIONS. They came to MIAMI to get prepared to go to the Pros. and when they committed to the U they didn't know how other big time college football teams are run. So they went with the flow. Look at Lavonta David he was a 2* and unheralded member of those Bulls teams with all those 5* players around him. And look at him now. The only member of that team still in the NFL and the lowest rated of all them. I really feel bad for those kids who had their dreams ruined here.

2011 is a good example of how we need to play on Sat. Get turnovers and complete dominance in all three phases.

Love that Avatar. I lost it when I saw that episode! Good stuff. I also rewatched the last two years games in prep for tomorrow. Its gonna be very interesting early but I think we slowly pull away in the 4th qtr but I am not expecting any type of blow out.

Who do you feel badly for? Some of these kids bolted at the first sign of hardwork and change?

IMO, it's okay to feel bad for Spence since he stayed till the end and gave it his all. He was a real leader who didn't have any off the field mishaps.

I think you are forgetting a few major things (on highlights and rankings):

1. They are called "highlight" tapes for a reason. They don't guarantee anything.

2. They came to Miami for assorted reasons.

3. Sean Spence is in the NFL as is Brandon Washington.

Spence is recovering from an injury. Brandon Washingont I'll give you that but he is a lineman.

I understand what you are saying about guys not wanting to work hard and bolting but that's after spending years in the country club and being conditioned for the easy road.

You don't think Streeter could have been a great WR if he was in a true college weight program for 3-4 years. Davon Johnson, Marcus Robinson, Marcus Fortson, and the list goes on. Its just insane to think that with all the talent in that class. The **** near every single one of those players was a bust.

Not having DP (and Sean Spence) for 2012 was brutal. The least disciplined Miami had been against GT's triple option in the last 4 years. EJ44 was chasing players from behind on those busted plays. DP, Gaines, Thirsty Thurston, and Figs got this. TFL city...

That isn't what I am saying at all. I am asking why do you feel bad for the ones that left early?

I get what your saying that they had a poor system in place when they arrived. But the kids that left with eligibility, when things were good, still left on their own maybe they didn't want to work in the new system.
