Mell Kiper on Stephen Morris

I will sound like an ******* here...But who cares..I want him to focus on UNC then the rest of the schedule...he has a lot of work to do to be the best QB on this team right now....

when Jan comes and we have dbl digit win season and a nice bowl win...I will be his biggest fan for the NFL draft..until then I hope he just plays hard for us

I'd be a little suprised if he was drafted before the 3rd or 4th round. Part of it is this draft but part of it decision making and footwork related. I don't think hes ready to start yet, he'd take a year or two at least IMO to get comfortable with an NFL playbook. He has a world of upside so thats not a knock on the pro he may become, but as far as the draft, in a year with strong quarterbacks its going to be tough to go round 1 or 2 for somebody whose willing to be patient.

I think he'll be drafted before then, but I think it's because what they think they can make of him rather than what he has already become. He's a confusing player in that he flashes brilliance and follows it up with wildness. I've mentioned he's somewhere between a lesser Matthew Stafford and Josh Freeman. Both of those guys were 1st round QBs. Both are erratic - to varying degrees. Both have cannons, which lets them be sloppy with footwork sometimes. Both had issues after the 1st read. I don't know where I'd draft him if I were an NFL team, but frankly I don't give a **** right now. I'm just hoping he helps us win important games.

He will have bad measurables, height will become a combine story with him.

Stephen Morris is one of the best QBs in the class this year..... before it's all said and done he could be considered the best.

If we continue to win, the draft will play itself out for Stephen. He's got the tools to be a QB in the NFL

Accuracy is an issue for him. Maybe that's footwork related. He definitely has tools. Height is a slight issue but in today's nfl it's less of an issue than it used to be. See brees, Wilson, etc

I think I read that there were 25 scouts at the game tonight? Morris just fell to the 5th round. He would need a monster second half to recover from this first half.
