Wow, suddenly all of the nay-sayers are starting to make sense. What an underwhelming highlight reel. The kid plays with a horrible pad level. He should learn to put his hand in the dirt, it might help him when he gets to college.

Seems likely that he's being coached to start from a two point stance. I think, as a LB, he'll be playing from a similar stance when he arrives at CG. He doesn't look 220 pounds in those highlights though.

In a class that will likely be 28+ can't we just appreciate a local kid who commits. It's not like this is a small class with 1-2 LBs we already have Young, Owens, Smith, and now McCray is a pretty solid class.

I have to agree with those who say he is hedging in case he doesn't get the test score to get in. I believe if all his grades are good and gets the score he is 100%.

Everyone keeps saying that this dude runs a 4.9 forty. His coach on Rivals says he runs a 4.6 consistently.

Yes, he's playing up on purpose. I have no doubt that his coach realizes that the kid is tall enough and fast enough to dominate at the HS level just by starting in the up position. That said, the kid's film looks weak. His pad level is horrible and he doesnt seem to know how to hit (those two things go hand in hand). My suggestion is taht he play a good portion of his D-end work with his hand in the dirt (3 point stance). it will help him learn leverage and play with a better pad level.
