Really impressed with how those two have fed off eachother this early in the season.. even on the Mccord Pick you see AQM with the pressure on the QB...

Also you gotta love what Coach D has done with the likes of Green, Gilbert, and Mccord... seeing how dynamic those payers are and dropping them in coverage, Gilbert was in the flats and Green and Mccord dropped back into coverage over the middle of the field during the game and had their hands on balls.. we are so much more versatile then we have been in years

Coach D needed the horses to run the 3-4. Now that he has the players, things seem to be coming together.

Next year will be interesting though since we lose about 4 SRs on the DL.

We'll be better next year. Loaded at LB & DB.
We'll get a Juco DL and some true freshman to go with Pierre, Earl moore, Hamilton, Chick, AQM, McCord, etc

Tyriq McCord is only #Canes player so far to record a sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery, interception and pass break-up.

One guy that nobody seems to recognize who I feel is helping this defense immensely is big 78 Justin Renfrow. He is the space eater we have not had since coach D's been here. Btw, he reminds me of the old school guys with his look and demeanor on the field. Just a nasty man out there. jmo

Coming out of the game from a DL perspective the only guy I was disappointed with his play was Hamilton.. think theres alot of work to be done regarding his play upfront. Luckily we have the depth this year and he dosent need 40 snaps a game

I agree i think the defense and the offense is going to be much better next year then they are this year

AQM is every bit as good as advertised, which is reassuring.

He's tearing it up as a Freshman.

Also funny how much people *****ed about McCord when he didn't pop up in the first depth chart of the season.

one thing we should take comfort in, we have a staff that is not afraid to put in the work. not worry about the dline...guy knows Miami is a place where smart kids will want to come. Now that folks are seeing what he is doing, especially bringing in the dlinemen he did recently, we should not worry about next year. we will be fine.

I'm confused as to people saying we are loaded at LB. We lose probably Perryman, Gaines and Cornelius for sure. Figs looks solid for one spot and I think Armbrister is good for another. Kirby at the mike hasn't proved anything....and then? NO proven depth. We have Blue, Grace, and a bunch of freshman. I don't consider us loaded at all at LB if Perryman leaves, which is likely IMO.

we will be fine next year. The improvement of McCord has been off the charts this year. You have to imagine Muhammad will take a similar jump next season, Hamilton will be better, Chickillo will be even better and McCord as well will continue to improve. Plus you have to love what we are bringing in on the defensive line: Trent Harris, Chad Thomas, Travonte Valentine and Dalvon Stuckey out of JUCO.

Coach D's ability as a playcaller is still up in the air. the Florida game was awesome, but Driskell sucks *** so it's hard to fully tell. But a couple of things are sure at this point: Golden and Coach D know how to A.) find defensive talent- we've pulled in multiple guys already who have been serious contributors and could be monsters that weren't highly ranked- Figueroa, Eddie Johnson, Armbrister, Olsen Pierre, Rayshawn Jenkins and B.) these guys know how to develop talent. Look at the defense across the board- the young guys brought in by Golden and co like McCord, Chickillo, Tracy Howard, Deon Bush etc have all made huge jumps from their freshman seasons to now. Then look at the older guys brought in by Shannon like Highsmith, Rodgers and Gaines. These guys were god awful, now they are really solid contributors. These guys can develop JAGS into good football players, now they are starting to get serious talent through recruiting that they are going to develop into wild savages.

Hamilton is a true sophomore who is still developing. Way too ****** early to be disappointed in him.

It's great to see a kid not on the 2 deep for our base d having such a big impact on games. He's a **** good football player who is flourishing in his role on this d.
