FSU is LB heavy in 2013 class
The biggest competition for Miami is FSU. FSU has already recruited 4 linebackers this class
E.J. Levenberry- 4-star ILB,
Freddie Stevenson- 4-star OLB
Tyrell Lyons- 3-star OLB
Ro'Derrick Hoskins- 3'star OLB
not counting what they have on their roster. hats 3 OLB ALONE!
MT6 is not afraid of competing but you don't want to walk in to a situation where you have 4 LB in your class alone and bunch more with the team now.
Just in case schools
MT6 is looking for an "alternate" school "just in case". These recruits have been fed so much bs by other schools about our sanctions that players are picking "just in case sh__t hits the fan" school.
FSU is an attractive pick for MT6.. not too far but far enough for him to enjoy college life, new faces etc. But Miami is his first choice.
Kirkland
Kirkland, who stated earlier there is a 75% chance they will play together. His safety school? USF (might be due to grades). The only school I see both
FSU has way too many OL/OT.
Players recruiting players
At the Under Armor game, Kevin Olsen and Artie Burns have been recruiting MT6 hard! On an interview during lunch time he was sitting next to Olsen & Artie Burns already said he is trying to go after MT6 & Kirkland.
Home Town
Every time this kid brings up "home town" and "Miami" he cracks a smile. The coaches have done a great job selling him "Miami"
When he is up at FSU Jimbo Fisher will use the "we care about these kids" & "you are welcome here anytime" etc etc etc.
The right place for MT6 to go
I know, I know I am a U fan and my opinion is going to be tainted here but MT6 is a local talent and he is appreciated here. UM class is small so Golden will put every effort in every recruit to make sure they succeed. No room for errors which means allot of attention and personal time. It really is a family type of environment.
His Mom wants him to stay in Miami & she can see him play allot more.(location wise & playtime wise)
NFL
This is not even a comparison. Miami, even during bad seasons still puts out NFL talent. Our entire coaching staff looks to develop our kids to NFL standards, FSU just want's to win college games.
MT6 can be an NFL star one day, he just needs people around him that actually care about him and will take care of him.
Injury factor
it is not a hidden secret, players get injured, even the great ones, and when you do and you need to sit out a year, being around your home is HUGE for recovery. Just ask Malcolm.
GO CANES!!!
