Markenzy Pierre (6'0" 210lbs) from Liberty HS in Kissimmee/Poinciana, FL is a under the radar big running back for 2017 who was named 7A first team all state playing on a terrible team (2-8 for 2015 season). What I like about this kid is his vision to find a hole and burst through it. Pierre is a slasher type despite being a big back that can dart past defenders and run outside, but also exhibits excellent footwork that allow him to avoid tacklers.

Pierre has a good balance and power with speed to break long runs (not take it to the house but good for 20 - 40 yd chunks at a time against FBS Talent he avg 9.1 YPC), but just as importantly he has good hands coming out of the backfield. He will also throw a few decleating blocks as well which is rare for a running back that is the best player on his team. He supposedly ran a 10.9 sec 100 meters as a sophomore and has a 3.5 gpa so grades won't be an issue.

Mark Richt likes big power backs with speed and there are several in the state of Florida for the 2017 Class it will be interesting see how he plays this.

Best kid I've seen in a long time who's patient enough to wait for his blockers set up a play. An absolute classic when he stiff arms his own team mate into two tacklers before scoring...

He needs a shirt to learn the trade and to improve his vision but I like the fact that he's not gonna be 180 coming in or 190 but over 200. With some speed I'd take he'll work hard and play with a chip for not being recruited. Nice find at a minimum he could play fb as well.

Markenzy Pierre "Under The Radar" - Varsity Preps

Markenzy Pierre “Under The Radar”

2017 running back Markenzy Pierre of Liberty High in Kissimmee, FL currently holds two offers, Memphis and Texas San Antonio (UTSA). He told Varsity Preps that he’s also hearing from North Carolina and Florida Atlantic.

The 6-foot, 210 pound standout spoke about his relationships with Memphis and UTSA.

“My relationship with Memphis is progressing. They have a great staff. Coach (Chris) Ball initially contacted me and referred to me by my nickname around school, “Debo.” I thought that was really cool. He told me he thinks I’m a true runner and they believe I can do big things at Memphis,” Pierre explained. “I plan to attend their junior day.

“I met Coach Everett Sands while he was still at South Carolina. He was very straight forward with me and I really appreciated that. Now he is at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He let me know that I was a strong downhill runner and that I can be an asset in their backfield.”

Last season, Pierre rushed for 1,677 yards on 184 carries (9.1 yards per carry) with 19 touchdowns, also adding 17 receptions for 325 yards and an additional four scores. He also saw action in the secondary, picking off two passes. This fall, Pierre will return kicks and punts, and will continue to see situational playing time on defense.

Pierre mentioned he’d like to hear more from the programs in the Sunshine State.

“I would like to hear from more schools in Florida because these are the teams I grew up watching and rooting for, so it would be nice to hear from a few more.”

The speedy back said he has summer visits lined up for UNC, Duke, South Carolina, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Clemson.

This offseason, Pierre keeps in shape by participating in basketball, weightlifting, and track. He’s also sharpened his football skills playing 7-on-7 for the Rat Pack.

“Playing 7-on-7 has helped my game in many ways. It’s taught me to run crisper routes, being able to read defenses and finding holes in coverage, and it’s improved my ability to make defenders miss in space.”

Pierre discussed with Varsity Preps how he’ll arrive at his college decision.

“My parents will be involved with the selection process, but they want me to go somewhere I will enjoy and love since it’s a decision I’ll have to live with for the next few years,” he said. “But the most important factor in choosing a program is the institution’s education, because someday, football will end and I need to make sure I equip myself to succeed without football.”

He says he plans to major in psychology.

Richt doesn't fight Memphis and UTSA for RBs. He recruits elite RBs. Leave this hidden gem under the radar **** alone.

Despite his reported track time, he seems to have average speed. I say pass and stick with what we got committed and stay on Felix.

Let's this marinate for a little while the kid made 7A 1st team all state RB while playing on a team that went 2-8 in central Florida. He played against 9 man fronts all game in every game they played and averaged 9.1 ypc. Keep in mind the following schools play in 7A and nationally ranked running backs whom Pierre beat out for All State: Lakeland, Tampa Plant, Viera, St Thomas AQ., Columbia, etc.

Pierre is under the radar because he hasn't done the camp circuit and he plays at school not known for sports, not because he isn't talented. An at 6ft 220lbs with some coaching, he will be a force. This is the type of player that goes to Wisconsin, Iowa, or VaTech an becomes a workhorse. Why can't he do the same for UM.

I am just saying UM should evaluate the kid and offer him even if it is as a back up plan at least create the relationship for the future.

Good points and this kid will be a beast somewhere.Do you know if UM is aware of this kid?

Pierre recently tried to reach out to UM's asst rb coach\ walk-on coordinator through social media, so we will see what happens.

He doesn't have break away speed either . He seems to hesitate when he gets the ball in his hands . 210 didn't see him destroy nobody . I would pass

Well now he is 220lbs, and I can see your point about him not being a track star but you have to also remember he hasn't worked with a quality speed coach at this point and his High School is not an athletic powerhouse so the technical aspect of his development is very lacking. His best 100m electronic time this spring was 11.70 seconds but again that is at 220lbs. With good speed training he could cut that down significantly, but I don't see him as a take it to the house guy but rather the power back that breaks off seven or eight 30yd runs a game while also keeping the chains moving. Watch Pierre end up at Pitt or UVA an give Miami fits for 4 years.

Here are highlights from his spring game at Liberty HS (kissimmee, FL)

Lol at the two people who down voted this.

Does Paranos have some friends in the mental institution?

The Cult of Parrotnose is growing. It's not surprising that mental patients root for the underdog. They want UM to keep signing the Danny Dillards of the world and not get the Gurleys and Chubbs.
