(Jeramy Passmore and Mark Richt)

Miami hosted their rising 9th and 10th graders camp for 2019 and 2020 prospects. Although it was a soggy afternoon, the play continued into the afternoon after a weather delay. Here are some of the prospects who stood out.

**2019 Mount Dora OLB/DE Jesiah Pierre stole the show today. This guy is a freak prospect in every sense of the word. 6-2, 210-pound rush end/linebacker prospect was probably the most impressive prospect in the eyes of Miami coaches. A commitment from him this week is a possibility. He will be in Miami the next few days because his older brother James will be camping on Thursday.

**2020 Belen Jesuit ATH Don Chaney also caught the attention of Miami coaches. He is related to former Canes WR Jermaine Chambers. Chaney played varsity football as an 8th grader last year as both a safety and windback in Belen’s wing-T offense. He is already at 6-foot, 175 and Syracuse has offered.

**2019 OL Antonio Serrano (also from Belen Jesuit) won the Best OL award for the 10th graders at camp today. The 6-2, 280 sophomore projects as an interior lineman at the next level. He’s a grinder in the threnches.
**Three Westminster Christian prospects were in attendance today and they all proved themselves.
1) 2019 DE/OLB Jeramy Passmore – This 6’2, 220-pound rising sophomore is a guy that Miami definitely has their eyes on early. His coaches have praised his willingness to work and the Canes staff has taken notice. He’s been around the program more recently and has a chance to grow into a special player.

2) 2019 WR Kalani Norris – Westminster’s smooth receiver was routing defensive backs all day. Norris’ footwork and craftsmanship at the position this early in his career are impressive. He was up at Ohio State last week for their camp and the Buckeye coaches brought him to the group of upperclassmen for 1-on-1 reps. Temple has already offered. He’s about 5-11, 175 right now.

3) 2019 ATH Demetries Ford is electric. In over 10 reps as defensive back today, not a single ball was caught on him. He will play a slot/running back role for Westminster on the offensive side of the ball as well. Potential nickel prospect down the line.

**Mater Academy’s 2019 Montavious Brini has a nice frame with room to grow. This will be a big season for him because it’s his first time playing varsity football. We will learn a lot more about him in a few months, but he’s a prospect Miami is keeping tabs on.

**Edgerrin James’ nephew, 2019 RB DJ Williams, rushed for 1000 yards in his freshman season. He is being coached by former Cane LaVaar Scott (brother of Larry Scott) and has high interest in Miami. He is 5-11, 180-pounds.

**Tomorrow Miami will host a rising juniors day for 2018 prospects. South Dade CB D.J. Ivey (6’1, 175-pounds) will be there and he’s a possible offer target for Miami tomorrow. High interest on both sides. He is about to blow up as a prospect. Looks a lot like Artie Burns at the same age.

I don't mind undersized pass rushers with speed especially if Coach Diaz plans to stand up the DE's from time to time like he did at Miss State. On another note, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say Montavious will follow Latavious wherever he goes

Pete,

Are we having a "Dawg Day" equivalent? I've heard this "Paradise Day" deal but when is it happening?

I will be envious of whatever school gets Montavious and Latavious.

Four rising 9th Graders from Shaq and Darrions school Oakleaf was in attendance...can't remember rhe kids names but they went two years undefeated in Jr High...one is 6'0 165 lbs QB..One is 6'1 220 DT, one is a 6'4 220 DE and one is a 6'4.5 320 OT...all these kids are 13. Last week at Clemson the DE and OT worked out with the upper classmen..They were also the standouts on the BBall team..Diaz met them on a Nick visit and advised their coach to send them down to the camp... what alot of people in SoFl forget that the Schnellenburger Line...not to be confused with the Mason Dixon Line went east to west Daytona to Tampa...most of the kids in sofl leave sofl...have to recruit the whole state...how many Miami greats weren't from sofl

My boys little brother and some of his teammates from Gulliver were not able to make it yesterday. Amin Hassan (2020 WR, two offers already in WVU & Bowling Green), he played varsity for Gulliver last year. He was on the list of rising high school freshman in Dade & Broward. Anton Hall as well 2020 ATH from Gulliver, already has an offer from Bowling Green.

2019 Columbus RB Darren Davis Jr. was also there.

I remember when I got hassled for mentioning Edge had a nephew that was a 2019 RB in DJ Williams in my thread last year about Nayquan Wright & James Cook.

If I recall correctly, one of DJ Williams coaches posts on here.

Love the aggression Jesiah Pierre plays with. I'll definitely take him.

Don Chaney the real deal, had no idea he was related to Chambers, he's also on the list for rising high school freshman in Dade & Broward.

Will keep an eye on Serrano.

I've heard good things about Passamore & Ford from Westminster recently.

Kalani Norris is the real deal as you and I have both mentioned before Pete. Been very high on him. Believe we talked about him the other week when you posted the article with Earl Little.

Little Brini has a lot of potential. I've known him personally for over a year now. He plays RB for them but I expect him to be a WR in the future. He's always been bigger than the kids he's played against. He was a good DB in little league too.

Oh and DJ Ivey is the truth.

Funny that you mentioned he reminds you of Artie Burns because that was my comparison for him.

I want him in 2018 real bad. I've been a big advocate of his on here and on Twitter when I discovered him in February when he came for Junior Day. He's close with Frierson.

He was hanging out with Al Blades Jr., Gilbert Frierson & Brian Blades Jr.(Yes there is another Blades, that's Al Jr's little brother. He plays for FT. Lauderdale Hurricanes) at the Spring Game.

South Dade has two other DBs to watch out for. 2018 Jamal Anderson(he already has some D-1 offers) & 2019 Cornelius Nunn. Nunn came to visit during our spring practices.

And they all just started lifting weights for the first time in summer workouts and they are all at 200 or more power cleans.. I think Shaq was 165 or 175 and left early cleaning 350 .. Oakleaf strength coach will have them all in 300 club before they are juniors

**2019 OL Antonio Serrano (also from Belen Jesuit) won the Best OL award for the 10th graders at camp today. The 6-2, 280 sophomore projects as an interior lineman at the next level. He’s a grinder in the threnches.
I want this guy for a few reasons:

1) Local OL.
2) We need grinders who are nasty interior linemen to build around for Richt's scheme.
3) So I can nickname him "Pedro" and make all of the Major League references I could ever want. I know the Serrano/Cerrano spelling is different, but who cares. #UpYoursJobu

Lmao

Wonder why DJ Williams is the only one listed without his high school...
Because its in my hometown and we've never been anything special. Also huge gator town with very lil canes support but coach Scott played DE for Miami and will make sure he knows where home is. Severing highschool is his highschool and trust he will beast. He was playing at lake placid but it seems he transferred to make the playoffs this year.
