Mark Emmert Holding Up NCAA Decision?

It did make the rounds and it should make the rounds again as it is believed by some in Coral Gables Mark Emmert is holding up the NCAA's decision. The article in itself is damning but it just goes to show you what kind of guy Mark Emmert is and everyone should be reminded of it.

Ok, I accept your original premise. Can you please explain to me why Marky Mark is holding up the decision? Or at least what the "rumor" is? Maybe he is holding it up because he thinks it is too harsh? Or he really wants to bring the hammer?
 
I hate the NCAA but still don't see what they stand to gain or how it hurts us to delay the announcement unless it slides WAY further than it should (read towards the end of the recruiting cycle). It's annoying but Golden has done damage control and I don't think any 2014 recruits seriously believe sanctions will affect them.

If they were going to hammer us they would have tried to get it out ASAP to make themselves look good in the face of a lot of negative press. The fact that they are holding on to the announcement means either they simply don't have the capacity to process it, or they are waiting until a time that it will fly under the radar, like the start of college football season when real football is happening, so they don't look stupid for essentially retracting their claims because of how insignificant their penalties will be compared to all the fuss they made and time they took.
