Obviously Mario has been beyond incredible in: bringing in an amazing group of: a) assistant coaches; b) support staff/analysts/scouts; and, c) recruits (so far, only to get even more amazing).
In my opinion, he is a much younger, more stable, version of the prior mega-builder... Butch Davis.
Mario's only remaining potential question mark is the same one that Butch had. Namely, game day coaching.
I think his great offensive and defensive coordinators and position coaches will be major difference makers versus him at Oregon.
Thus, my question is:
1. Is Mario much better than his reputation, and is great as is, at game day coaching?
or
2. Do you think he will get better by working on it and benefit by getting pointers from the likes of the great coaches at his coaching clinic? ( https://www.canesinsight.com/threads/2022-coaches-clinic.176723 )
or
3. Do you think he might use some more of our deep financial resources to bring on a former head coach known for his game day coaching acumen? And, if #3, do any of you have any great coaches he could consider for that role?
