Since it's been made clear that Mario to UM has been backchanneled and in the works for weeks if not months, does anyone have some insight as to whether he's mentioned who he'd like for his staff, or does that work start now? Mirabal is a safe assumption based on history but have any other names been brought up yet?

I've only heard that he's got some guys lined up to follow from Oregon - obviously Mirabal and I think Rod Chance. Jimmy Brumbaugh (DLine) has been trying to get on at Miami for several years now - dating back to when Richt was hired - is also an analyst at Oregon. He could also wind up at UF though - especially if Mario goes for KP for that spot.

The fun thing is we can think about anyone with this budget.

I've mentioned it to some in PM - the budget for assistant's (10 on-field assistants only) is going to be essentially the "Clemson" model. I think we end up being higher than them after they lose their 2 highest paid assistants.

$8-8.5M - ideally 2 coordinators are in the $4-4.5 range and then the other 8 guys are at $500k give or take apiece.

You can hire almost anyone you want for that money with someone respected like Cristobal as the head man.

I hope he brings Chance with him.

I heard his current assistants must coach all the way through the bowl game.

I think so. Chance, Mirabal, Feld, and Bryan McClendon are the only guys that aren't west coast lifers on that staff.

I think everyone else stays. Don't think BMac ends up here though.
We want at least one west coast guy, right?

Is Rod Chance a good db coach?
