Manure Diaz throwing shade…

I mean I hate Penn State as much as anyone but they’ve put some good linebackers into the league & Parsons looks to be an all-pro caliber player. It’s reality.

Um, if he is Penn State's DC, wouldn't that make him an experienced big time DC? Penn State is one of the bigger names in college football, no? I think he is going to fall flat on his face, but give him credit for fooling Franklin into thinking he is a quality hire.
I said working underneath a big time DC as an analyst, similar to what Muschamp is doing at Georgia.

And what I'm saying is why work underneath one, when you can be "the guy"? To me, those analyst guys just took those jobs because a job didn't open up for them yet or they wanted to take the year off while not getting out of the game totally. Manny got the job and obviously doesn't want to take a year off.

Manny sure is salty—taking a shot at Miami’s “Linebacker U” ways.

Yeah, PSU had the title first and neither have cranked out ‘backers like they used to—but the Canes owned the title more recently and little butt-hurt Diaz with an indirect shot at Miami here.

Total 🤡.
He's gone now. Let it go. NO MORE MANNY THREADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because he has a high chance of failure in a conference with great running games and stopping the run is his biggest weakness. Obviously it's hard to turn down big money but he had his UM buyout money so he would be good regardless on that front. Manny needs to step back and learn but instead we'll watch him embarass himself instead.

Eh, whatever. Manny Diaz is not hurting us in any way, shape or form. He's got to build allegiances with the PSU fans, so I'm not shocked.

Not that I'm wishing failure upon Manny, but this will be short-lived. Their fans that really know football will see very quickly how flawed his super DL dependent schemes are. OSU, Wisconsin, Michigan and MSU will gash his defenses to death.

Manny thinks he can be successful and is confident in his abilities. More importantly, James Franklin thinks he will get the job done. Why take a step back if you are confident you will do well and your employer thinks you will do well?

I agree with you that he'll probably fall flat on his face, but he is getting the opportunity to prove us wrong.

One more thing on Diaz, as much as I despised how he got the UM HC gig, and as dismayed I was with his coaching, I want him to do well. Especially at his current DC gig because he will have to bring in some of his guys into the PSU staff from grad assistants to maybe even positional coaches...so this potentially opens doors for some of our former players aspiring to be coaches...I rather they work at a Big10 program than at some high school earning pennies grumbling about UM not giving their former players opportunities.

Cause we don’t?
I’m not arguing we do, but you would think the head coach would say that at some point in their tenure (but I guess there weren’t too many big victory celebrations to present the opportunity). A coach saying that about a school on the day he is hired when he has zero first hand knowledge of them? Seems calculated, but I still couldn’t care less

You want him to recruit South FLorida well too? Let’s not go too mother Teresa on him.
