Just got an alert that said he is transferring. I wonder what happened there. I know he didn't get a lot of minutes in the NIT, but he played well for us during the season. Good backup PG.

"Miami guard Manu Lecomte will transfer, sources told CBSSports.com on Wednesday.
He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
The 5-foot-11 guard averaged 7.9 points and shot 45.6 percent from three-point range this past season."

Go get a big man, L.

But considering the live period is beginning, I wonder if he tries to get a 2015 kid instead of a transfer.

Im going to guess after Manu fell apart towards the end of the year and Newton really started to get better that coach L just laid it out for Manu.

Sad to see him go, good luck to him.

Go get a 2015 kid and redshirt him the second he gets on campus (I don't think Anthony Lawrence redshirts).

It's not even the height thing, it's the lack of size and physicality. He and Angel are both 5'11, but one guy plays through contact and gives great defensive effort, and the other doesn't.

This would be the best route to go. I don't know if we can get in on any of the big names near the end here, though. I would have been OK with going after Tacko Fall if he hadn't signed in the early period with UCF already.

Per ESPN--we are on lists for Thon Maker and Malik Newman...but they're pipedreams to add at the last minute. Those studs will end up at one of the elite programs.

Maybe we go international and/or JUCO again? Worked with ICU.

I said this in the other thread, but in all fairness to Manu--he sprained his knee against Richmond and basically limped around to help us eat minutes so Newton wouldn't have to play all game long. He had to do that since Angel couldn't go.

Do you know anything about Lawrence? What's the scouting report on the kid? What can I expect out of him next year? Also, anyone know of another player that we might pickup for the '15/16 season?

I honestly would rather get a Joe Thomas type for this year and then use the scholly for the 2016 class on a higher level of player then what we'd get at this point.

But that would be 5 freshmen for 16, and I doubt they want that.

Wish him the best. One of the guards were going to transfer and I think he is the least talented out of all of them.

Emergence of Newton is the main reason. With Angel returning and Newton expected to get big minutes leaves little room for the least talented of the 3 PG's. Throw in Dre and i dont blame him for transfering. I posted after NIT i expected 1 of the guards to leave expected either him or Dre to go. Manu was a good fit for what we asked of him last 2 seasons and improved tremendously. Good Luck to him.

I'm going out on a limb and guessing that L was not shocked by this news.
More importantly, I bet that he has a plan. It might not be a 300 page binder plan though.
