Good question. He saw some playing time against Rutgers in the final game this past Sunday. He actually hit a homerun, one of only 3 bombs we have on the season so far, and was able to get another hit as well in that game. I don't see him getting a ton of playing time this year because the outfield is so full with Chester, Eusebio, Abreu, Heyward, and Justin Smith.
I do think we need something better out of the DH spot. Right now Kennedy is mainly DHing which doesn't make much sense to me. I would like to see a bigger bat in that spot. Maybe when Lopez returns we will see some different guys moved around in order to get another bat in the lineup. Coach Morris likes Rosier, he spoke about his defense earlier in the year, and then he obviously showed some power in the one game he got in. I would like to see him maybe get some at bats in midweek games to see what all he can do.
I'm excited about Justin Smith as well, but I was excited about Brad Zunica and Grant Heyman as well but both left due to playing time. I'm hoping that doesn't happen here.
Great stuff everyone. Thanks.
Shoeless,
I cannot tell you how excited I was when I found out you were going to writing and adding baseball content to our site. (well you kinda do 'cause I told you on the moderator board, but I wanted to put it here too . I was a Canes baseball fan long before becoming a Canes football fan. Its really tough to follow the baseball program from California. There is just so little info available related to college baseball (in comparison to college football).
Thanks so much for taking this gig.
