What's the word on him?

People have been talking about his potential since he was recruited. He's a beast in the weight room, but any chatter about how he's looked in action? Was he healthy this past Spring?

We could have a formidable tackle tandem if he's as advertised.

I'm really counting on the O-line this year. We were visibly overmatched at the point of attack last year. It is my hope that the UTOUGH regimen turns that around. No more excuses.

it was sad to see our guys getting pushed around like ******* when we had an SEC type line if you were to just LOOK at them without seeing them play. We had some big guys, dont know why they were getting moved around so easily. slow?

Quite frankly, I think we were weak, and so does Golden:

CORAL GABLES — Miami players were putting in work in the weight room Monday, two days after their season ended with a 24-17 home loss to Boston College.

"We've made marked improvement," Coach Al Golden, "but there are too many times when you look on the field, we're getting pushed around. And we have to get that fixed.

"As I said to the staff [Sunday], I think there's a blessing that we're not going to a bowl because we can fix our strength and size at the point of attack."

While some teams take a week or two off after the season, the break for UM player, Golden said, can come during the holidays while other teams are playing in bowl games.

Golden said he believes in strength and conditioning coach Andreu Swasey -- "He's one of the best" – but noted there is still a lot of work to be done.

"One of our deficiencies as a team is overall strength," Golden said. "We have to fight that from a nutritional standpoint. A lot of that is a culture. We need more guys with strength on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

"You can't go out there and play with 208-pound linebackers and think that's OK," Golden said. "We're playing teams that have 230, 245-pound linebackers. I want a big, strong, powerful team."

you combine that with the typical speed in south florida players and you got a bright future with this program..... smash mouth along with explosive plays sounds alot like the 2000-2002 teams to me...

In terms of size and athleticism, there is not a better group anywhere in the country. But offensive line, more than any other unit, requires experience and continuity.

Our center and left tackle are first-year starters, our right tackle has never started for any sustained period and our left guard played right tackle last year.

Early on, I expect some struggles and a lot of "the OL is overrated" posts. But by the end of the season and heading into 2013, this needs to be a dominant unit.

Do you think Trel goes a 4th year?

I think in his mind, he's going to have a dominant year and go pro. But that's normal.

Personally, I hope he does have that kind of year and gets that first round money. That's a deep position with Jermaine Johnson and Ereck Flowers ready to step in.

Cot**** Erek Flowers. Cannot wait to see him in some Jumbo sets.

How does he compare to Orlando Franklin and Brandon Washington at the same age? I keep hearing great things about him.
Favorably.

Pretty much. He's more flexible and disciplined than Franklin and more of a tackle than Washington. He's as good of a talent as there is on the team, at any position.

He's a cut above Franklin on almost every level except raw athleticism, and even there he has better balance. He plays squattier than Franklin, which is impressive considering Flowers absurd size. I think he's potentially the highest draft pick out of this past recruiting class.

Everytime someone mentions Bunche, the only thing that comes to my mind is dude wearing the ski mask during the Sun bowl.

And isn't he from Jersey?

We've got one. Our OL is huge and athletic. We need Coach Kehoe to develop them to play to their potential.

Bunche is a very intriguing player. No reason he shouldn't make a major jump in production this year. Strong, fit, athletic with a full year under him in the system. I think that if the center position holds up, we should expect the Oline to finally be one of the strengths of the team. Also, I completely agree that you start breaking Flowers in on some of the packages, and hopefully he can get at least a quarter in the Bethune game.
