Make them beat you?

I hear Dorito defenders claim that we play 10 yards off recievers because our talent is so inferior, we would give up big plays if we were aggressive or tight.

Granted, we have been beaten long a lot, relatively.

Isn't routinely giving up 3rd and longs, and massive YAC essentially giving up big plays? Defaulting on two or three 3rd and ten conversions a possesion is no different than giving up a 30 or 40 yard pass, IMO.

I think this is why bad teams and bad offenses stay in the game against us. Letting a team make uncontested conversions is ridiculous. You have to make the opponent beat you, by pressuring them.

The reason the UNCs, WFs, GTs and such lose tons of games is because they cannot make plays under pressure. So what if WF burns us on a 70 bomb? They can't do it consistantly, and they will go three and out or turn it over the more they try. Watch Logan Thomas try to pass on 3rd and 8 when recievers are covered. That's when he throws 4 pics a game.

I don't see many other teams pulling this crap. Nobody lets us have free first downs. I see us throw short of the chains on third down, and half a dozen defenders are on the reciever immediately. ****, when teams load up in the box to stop the run, they still cover our recievers.

Makes no sense. We let teams move the ball on us by design.

That "we play loose so we don't get beat" excuse is bull****. If that was the case then we would never play man coverage. We just suck at playing underneath zone.
