Emory or Anderson should without a doubt compete for the QB spot, not some drifter looking for nil money. All three are Canes through and through and will portal out if ignored or passed over by some reject. It is time to honor loyalty and use our recruits. The missing element has been lack of dedication to the program. Sure the portal lamesters flash the U but they are not hardcore dedicated Hurricanes. How many are one and done. Ex-Canes played better then what we got ala the portal, SMU is embedded with Canes and look where they are now. I hated seeing Brashrd Smith go and what a difference maker he is for SMU. We're lucky we won't face our rejects, they would kick our asses. Cam had a fairly good year yet we are on the outside looking in. I sincerely believe we would've been better off without the portal bums and without a doubt we could end up the 2024 noles.

You’re actually a moron if you believe this.

Without Cam, Martinez, Barrow alone, this team goes 7-5. Not a shadow of doubt.

Dementia is tough and a sad thing to witness.

Assuming this isn't satire:

Emory — I like him. Showed a lot of moxie last year. But I don't see a P4 starter. Decent arm, but nothing special. The biggest issue I see is the lack of movement. If you can't move, you need to be a surgeon in the pocket. Is he that?

Judd — Big, cannon arm, and can move, but he was a raw prospect. Maybe he's ready down the road, but I would NOT feel good about him being the starter next season in a critical year for the program.

Luke — If you're counting on a true freshman QB, he better be a phenom. In fact, when's the last time a true freshman QB was good right away? Maybe Trevor Lawrence, but even he had some growing pains early. Also had a completely stacked roster. I don't see Luke as a phenom, though I do like his accuracy.

Reese — I like his movement ability, but I didn't get to see him throw the ball at all. Again, you don't want to rely on an unknown FCS transfer.

We desperately need to hit in the Portal.

Cam Ward was a grand slam. Can't expect that again.

But we need to hit a ground-rule double.

The new QB will get very little leeway once he shows he can’t do what Cam did, even though any sane person would not expect it. Fan is short for fanatic, and they’ll be bashing him with a quickness. I don’t envy the next portal QB that comes in because they come in expected to be able to produce at a very high level off rip.

cam going to sit the **** bowl game we deserve.

reese will play it, then transfer, this is his audition, maybe ucf or something

2025 will be emory or a transfer. if emory has improved then why not him, last we saw him was as a true freshman thrown into the rivalry game bc tvd kept getting hurt/int

2026 if emory wasn't the guy, then luke and judd are fighting and would start, or transfer.

if we keep going for transfer QBs then stop recruiting them all together bc we suck at finding a HS QB.

Initially didn't look at who posted this, and then I read the beginning of the first sentence and immediately knew lol. You mention the portal players not being hardcore dedicated hurricanes while also mentioning Brashard Smith, who was such a hardcore dedicated hurricane that he transferred to SMU and then trolled our players on X.

Lashlee pursued Brashard Smith and uses him as aan RB not a WR. If your used as a substitute and a coach you know wants to use you e would've been foolish to stay and I'd bet his NIL increased. Coaches need to be loyal to their players before expecting loyalty back. There is panic now expecting a flood of Canes bailing out and this leaves our program worse off then the benefit of a 10 win season. Look at the scores of our games, we did not over power and truely whip any team. We should not be a one man team.

Man I’m starting to think Fraggle is really D$ burner profile to start insane threads and create chaos to get people posting 😂.

Yeah, I dont care if this is trolling or satire. I kind of agree with it. You can't always go to the portal and bring in a home run. In fact you could easily actually do the opposite and bring in a guy who just wants money and isnt very good. Someone who doesnt fit in. Saban was right about one thing. If you dont pay the right players you are s**t out of luck.

Maybe teams should develop their own QB? That's not a horrible idea.....

Cam was good at Washington State, maybe even very good if 5 and 7 is acceptable . He comes to Miami and his protection all year was much better than Washington State. Ironic that at Washington State his fumbling was his biggest negative and low and behold fumbling spoiled our season. He had Fletcher and Martinez plus the most prolific Hurricane WR ever in X. Would some other QB have possibly come in and actually have done better or one of our current QB's? Possibly to maybe probably.

We needed heroics in too many games and never blew any team out. Our season ended just as disappointing as we've been since 2001. Sorry but I am not thrilled with our situation currently and no way should we have lost to GT and Cuse.

Our coaching ability is something else, 12 games and zero improvement, the same problems from day one until the 12th game is unacceptable. As a matter of fact we got worse as teams recognized our flaws that never got corrected.
