Agreed. Morris really is confusing and frustrating to watch sometimes. Like you said, he'll have quarters where he looks unstoppable, making accurate, strong throws to the right guys, etc. Then, he goes through stretches where he just can't find any rhythm, misses open guys, makes poor reads and tries to force things. He's different than so many of our past quarterbacks because he doesn't generally make terrible decisions/throws (like KW trying to actually throw it through defenders or Jacory floating balls into quadruple coverage), he has a really strong arm, is athletic enough to be a threat scrambling and generally seems to have so many of the components needed to be a really good college QB.
However, the inconsistency is maddening. To me, the throws (other than the INT) that are the most frustrating were the one to Dorsett on 2nd and 10 that he airmailed, which would have been a first down and kept the chains moving, which instead turned into the series with the blocked punt, and the couple rollouts that he short-armed in front of Hurns. Those are the throws that are drive killers, that lead to 3rd and 10 instead of 3rd and 2, that keep us from staying on the field. Morris can make some special throws, but for our offense to be special, we need him to be more consistent on the easy throws. Those missed easy throws hurt us last year, and if he continues to miss them, will hurt us this year.
