Have to win this game. I hate those wannabe Miami *****.

Beating them isn't enough. We have to crush them and their program and put them in their place.

I'm conflicted.

I wanna crush them, but if we crush them that assures that D'Onofrio is back and that handcuffs us next year.

We're not crushing them. Our D is not there, even with all the prep time.

I just want the win.

Dorito can't change his spots. Watch Teddy's boyz run up gobs of yards on us even in a Miami win, and the onus is ever stronger on Dorito (and Al). More of the same is not acceptable, so it will only raise the amplitude for a firing - or fix it campaign (scheme/philosophy change suited to players).

This is going to get worse before it gets better. FACK.

But....win.

With the month off before the game, I think you'll see a much better performance out of Miami's defense. Bush and Rodgers will get a chance to heal, keeping Highsmith off the field. Hopefully they'll get Figs back from injury which will cut down on the snaps seen by both Cornelius and Armbrister. And give Chickillo a chance to heal his ankle and improve his play.

Not that this defense is great, but reducing the snaps of the biggest liabilities will go a long way to improving the overall performance.

But the ‘Canes were relentless in their pursuit of him, and the promise of immediate playing time and a December in-home visit swayed his commitment. Gayot was a frequent visitor of the Coral Gables campus and the 90-minute drive (120 if you drive at any time that isn’t nuts) was a big factor for his parents.

So I emailed Dodds and asked for his version of events. Here’s what he said:

“Miami has been on his mind since spring and, to my knowledge, they didn’t use the Texas rumor to get him to switch,” Dodds started. “I think his family was a big part of it. When his mother and father started to get involved and they went to visit Miami because of the proximity, I think Marques felt more comfortable. They also told him that they have no safeties left and he would get an opportunity right away. I also think that in his mind committing to the U is more meaningful, especially here in South Florida. He did love Louisville, but mom and dad didn’t visit, so I think that was a factor.”

How is our D going to stop them? Bridgewater will have all day to throw and we can't stop the run.

It's going to be a high scoring game, I'm pretty sure we can expect that. I just hope our offense will be able to put together some long drives to keep our defense, and their offense off the field for long periods at a time. We have to get better on 3rd downs for that to happen tho.
