Looks like Thad says he’s locked in! (New article)

He's the best RB in the state, you don't drop him over PT, literally every high caliber prospect wants to play as a TF.

Crootin' 101: When a 4/5-star recruits wants PT, give him PT.

You don't hand over talent to your rivals over something as stupid as a few carries in a game, you guys gotta stop thinking that recruits are like fans, they're not, they're the commodity, therefore the leverage is in their court, especially when you're trying to rebuild a winning program.

Thad would play as TF at any school he signs with, Miami should be no different.

Yall want Elite recruits right? Yall wanna compete with the Big Dogs like Bama, Clemson, LSU, Oh St etc right? Then this is what you have deal with, top tier staffs land these types & still get them in the field even with a stacked Depth chart.

Yall Fold up too quick, crootin' ain't for the weak... If it was easy everybody would do it at a high level.
Nothing but the truth!

Slow down there bro....i didn't say they had better backs....I'm not campaigning just know he started the first two games at TAM before his injury...led all SEC freshman in all purpose yards ..you think he's a bum that's your opinion...
brah up n down this thread you said they have good running backs...Your definition of good and mines are completely different. They dont have 1 proven commodity at the position. If you want to crown Corbin then crown him then *denny green voice*.

There's a reason he can look at our rb back field and says what he says. ..they have a bunch of kids that wouldnt get carries here. Add to it that OL is some sh*t.

If Thads camp is reading this board...I'm sure he won't be scared...talking about campaigning.... y'all solidifying his move even more lol .... I never said he would be scared of anyone on that roster....my point is there is comp at just about every p5 school with a pulse....plus they are in it for two other 4* backs that most here talking $hi+ prolly never seen or know $hi+ about... also, don't forget they can hit the portal again for another stud....
You think he knows about random 4 star RBs from Louisiana that just blew up this spring? Yes, other studs are FLOCKING to FSU right now, right?

I agree their OL is trash...on the flip side , last year ours was just as bad tho...you said he's better than anybody on their roster "right now" which isn't necessarily true in my book.... Corbin had 848 yards as freshman in the SEC led the SEC in return yards yet you said he's trash lol...I like our prospects better than FSU but really won't know how good they are until I see them in action against a good team... I'm not going sleep on FSU cuz they picked up some talent...they can also hit the portal again ...talent hasn't been their problem it's coaching....

Been saying this for 20 years.

Evaluate. Recruit. Sell. Excuses are for losers.

That’s a pre Portal mindset.
And a pre IC mindset.

Its simple, is Thad good? Yes. Also a perfect fit for Lashlee.

Can you convince Thad by recruiting tactics to sign with Miami? Yes, a good recruiter would easily do this.

Are you going to be able to keep Thad happy when he is here? Unlikely if the older guys ahead of him stay healthy. Be prepared to recruit Thad for the next 3-4 years or else you're looking at the portal.

How many carries a game did SMUs 3rd back get last year? Thats what Thad needs to be ok with for the first two years.

how come it seems we get the kids scared of depth charts, while we have hundreds of threads talking about 5star QB heading to USC, even though they already have a 5star committed... 5star DT heading to LSU, even though they have 3 other 5star DT's committed.... and the board just says, big time recruits aren't scared of competition.... yet, here in miami....

Up to the staff to get it done in recruiting. Figure it out.

1) We are going to be running a lot of plays.
2) There will need to be substitution at RB.
3) Knighton is going to be used in the passing game.
4) You'll get plenty of carries off the bat.
5) By your third year, you are RB1.
6) We've got studs coming in on the OL.
7) F$U is bankrupt on the OL.
8) You're closer to home.
9) F$U is unstable.

I don't know how many other hooks you need. There's no reason to lose him. Get it done.

SMU's 3rd RB had 41 carries last year.

That's a little under 3 carries a game during a 14 game season.

Understandable Thad is better than SMUs 3rd string so double it.

Thad going to be OK with 6 carries a game for the first 2 years? And 6 carries to the 3rd string back is being generous imo.

You're making a lot of assumptions there. Sure, Lashlee could prefer to rely on 2 primary backs. But it also could have been those two backs were much better, they were better fits for the system, the other guys were injured, that he played in all 13 of their games (he didn't, he played in 7), that he was ready as a true freshman physically and mentally, that Lashlee wouldn't change the system year to year, or a million other reasons. They were also in a lot of close games, so not a lot of time in the 4th quarter to get young guys touches.

The question is, how does Alabama deal with this? The school is stacked with an absurd amount of 4 and 5 star players. Let's say they really wanted Thad...how do they realistically pitch him when he would have Jase McClellan (4 stars), Roydell Williams (4 stars), and Trey Sanders (5 stars) ahead of him?

Not really verbally. More physically and economically as well as financially

Thad probably is butthurt because he was told he’ll be the only back in the class and they’ve backed off that. Not sure what’s changed but it looks like they’ve turned the heat up on Daniels. Imo that explains him pushing back the date to commit.

Kids sometimes feel a sense of accomplishment getting recruited and then playing for a team like Alabama on top of all of the recruiting shenanigans that go along with it. They prefer all of that even if they barely play.
But I still don’t know how more kids don’t transfer out of there.
Weve talked about Xavier Williams and how he hasn’t shown much cause who he’s had play in front of him. But kids still won’t transfer out of there even though can start somewhere else.

We’ve had players start here and make the league that wouldn’t even get an offer from bama. But the back ups there are top 300 kids that still won’t leave knowing they will start day one at another program. Idk how they do it.

They must convince the non starter that they suck or tell them that they’re “only a step behind the starters and next year we will evaluate but your right there in the mix”

Kids go back home with their bama drip and prefer All the attention that comes with it.
They don’t want to transfer to a school with lesser facilities or glamour. They also probably worry about being a highly recruited kid and then having to explain “why he couldn’t make it at Bama”

The goal should always be to have 5 RB's on the roster. They get hurt easily. During the Duke game we were down to Robert Burns as the main RB because Dallas was out and Harris got injured in the game.

Walton got hurt in 2017 missed rest of the season.

Chaney
Knighton
Burns
Franklin
Daniels

Go earn your playing time.
