The Hoos did all of their damage before the season started. With 25 commitments before the end of September including local ★★★★★ LB Eli Harold and ★★★★ LB Kwontie Moore as well as Top 10 rated QB by most sites ★★★★ Greyson Lambert. They landed ★★ CB Divante Walker from Virginia Beach recently and missed out on ★★★★ RB Imani Cross (Nebraska).
As usual, the Hokie class is unheralded but is usually filled with what will end up being quality football players. They recently lost year-long commitment ★★★ WR Robert Lockhart to rival Miami, and will wait on ★★ LB Jawand Blue to reaffirm his commitment after being courted by Miami late. They are also waiting on decisions from ★★★★ ATH Joel Caleb, Penn State commitment ★★★ QB Skylar Mornhinweg, ★★ WR Romond DeLoatch, and ★★★★ DT Korren Kirven. To replace Lockhart, they received a commitment from ★★ WR Josh Sanford recently.
It hasn't been an easy last few weeks for Paul Johnson's Ramblin' Wreck. They've had several key late departures from their class including ★★★ CB Antonio Crawford (Miami), ★★★ OL Will Adams (decommitted), ★★★ DE Junior Gnonkonde (North Carolina), and also missed out on ★★★★ DE Alex McCalister (Florida). They did add ★★ WR Travin Henry, OL Adam Gotsis, and ★★★ ATH Lynn Griffin recently to make up for the loss. On signing day, they are waiting on a decision by ★★★ LB Beau Hankins.
The first recruiting class in the post-Butch Davis era of North Carolina football has been as active as you can imagine. With a flurry of decommits and an equally busy flurry of talent pilfering by new head coach Larry Fedora highlight one of the most active final month of the recruiting season in Chapel Hill. To summarize the last month. Coming in: ★★★ DE Junior Gnonkonde (Georgia Tech), ★★★ WR Kenrick Singleton (MTSU/SoMiss), ★★★ QB James summers (NC State), ★★★ OG Caleb Peterson (SoMiss), and ★★★ QB Kanler Coker (ECU). Couple that with recruiting victories for ★★★ TE Monte Taylor, ★★★ LB Joseph Jackson, ★★★ DE Justin Thomason, and ★★★ S Clint Heaven. Departing is ★★ DE Desmond Owino (NC State), ★★★ QB Patton Robinnette (Vandy), ★★★ OL Bryce Kennedy (NC State), and ★★★★ TE Justin Meredith (Tennessee).
The Blue Devils should be about done with their class. However, they did pick up ★★★ DE Michael Mann, a former Arizona State commitment.
