Paul does not look like a LB. Kirby looks legit in spring game and I like his physicals. dude will be a monster

I like having the depth back at the least. Getting DP, a proven performer, is huge. Kirby hasn't gotten to prove himself yet so ill withhold judgement there.

rather see kirby than paul

Why? Paul has looked solid this year minus the weak tackle he done yesterday. I'm all in on the Kirby bandwagon but I have liked what i've seen so far from Paul.

I like Paul but not at Mike. He bit on a couple of the play actions and let the TE's get free. He is still learning but I like his speed.

I'll have to watch the fast forward tapes then, and pay attention to that. Yeah I'm liking what i'm seeing out of GP so far though.

I'm not down on Cornelius like most seem to be. He's playing sound just needs to be more aggressive - seems like he's thinking too much about being where he's supposed to be instead of just playing football. Paul I like attacking the run hard, but includes him going hard after the play action fake. And not sure I'd trust him at WLB with how we have the WLB out over the slot most of the time. It's a tough assignment for Cornelius and he got 4.4/4.5 speed. Put in 4.7/4.8 running Paul and its an even bigger mismatch (LB vs WR is a mismatch no matter the LB though). Overall though with how we play our WLB over slots whoever is there is going to be a non factor for the most part. Just can't get involved much in the run game and can't be expected to do much covering a slot WR. And whoever is at MLB has to deal with an OG/C each play since our DTs don't take up blocks and even get pushed back into the MLB at times. SLB is expected to take on blocks so that's just part of his job and I do like how Johnson fits - plus he's ultra aggressive and at SLB that's always a good thing.

overall i like our LBs. Just between what they are asked to do and the DTs in front of them they're really put in a tough spot. Even Ray Lewis looked like he was falling off when he had weak DL play in front of him. Ravens draft Ngata and it was his fountain of youth. These guys need some help. Also, wouldn't mind seeing more blitzes from the LBs.

Yep he did. In the 1st qt (first drive for NCST) i believe, he bit pretty hard. Also, Paul missed two easy tackles., He was not wrapping up at all, Paul reminds me a little of Sharpton (Physically and production) Either he is going to get you a TFL or simply look silly.

Paul just isn't ready but I do like what he brings to the table.

I remember thinking similar things about Eddie Johnson last year FWIW. You could tell the physical part was there just not sure how long it takes to develop.

Paul is built like Buster Davis (FSU linebacker a a couple of years ago). Around 5'10 tops, pushing around 230lbs.. I am hoping Paul develops like Buster, cuz that boy used to hit.

Used to love/hate watching Buster. Dude would play with one shoe, half a jersey, just lookin rugged as ****

I want to see some more Fentress at LB over Gaines or Armbrister. I'm interested in seeing what Kirby can do before I put him in the 2 deep, but Johnson and Perryman are absolute starters.
