Seriously?

Didn't he just join the team recently?

Always a sad and horrible thing to hear when a young life gets taken like that.

Prayers for Joey and his family.

Watched my mother at my sister's funeral and finally understood the old Biblical blessing "May all your children outlive you." Nothing more painful that burying you kid. Prayers for his parents. During Nam this was so common that is sort of numbed us to parents losing kids. It was a daily occurance for many years. Even before my time, I remember the seniors for the year before in HS coming home in coffins. To this day I am confused by kids being so upset when a school mate dies. Like I said, we got a little numb to it.

Requiescit in pace young man. May the Good Lord comfort his family.

These stories are just so sad. Growing up in south Florida, they are an unfortunate part of life that you hear every single summer. RIP

He was an LB at Penn with one year of eligibility left. Came back home, was enrolled in law school for next semester. But he was most excited to have a chance to represent the team he grew up loving. Tragic.

God Bless his soul! Sad to lose someone! I will keep his family in my prayers! May he Rest in Peace and may his family be comforted.

An excerpt from his former high school football coach. Sounds like a great young man we lost.

His high school coach, Chris Kokell, told the Post that Grosso’s death “just doesn’t make sense.”

“He was my guy,” Kokell said. “I talked to him yesterday. He was on top of the world after he made Miami’s 105-man roster. It was his life’s dream.

“He was the best. I’d describe him like this: he was Superman. All-State linebacker. He would do anything for anyone. He was everything you’d want in a player, little brother or son.”
