According to the current roster the LBs are below:

34 Thurston Armbrister LB 6-3 235 Sr. Hollywood, Fla. (Hollywood Hills HS)
53 Jared Goldenberg LB 6-0 220 RFr. Ramsey, N.J. (Don Bosco HS)
5 Jermaine Grace LB 6-1 210 So. Miami Gardens, Fla. (Miramar HS)
56 Raphael Kirby LB 6-1 235 Jr. Stone Mountain, Ga. (Stephenson HS)
17 Tyriq McCord LB 6-3 245 Jr. Tampa, Fla. (Jefferson HS)
23 Terry McCray LB 6-3 205 Fr. Pompano Beach, Fla. (Blanche Ely HS)
59 Michael McGinnis LB 6-2 226 Fr. Allentown, N.J. (East Coast Prep) (Allentown HS)
58 Darrion Owens LB 6-3 217 Fr. Orange Park, Fla. (Oakleaf HS)
52 Denzel Perryman LB 6-0 242 Sr. Coral Gables, Fla. (Coral Gables HS)
51 Juwon Young LB 6-2 240 Fr. Albany, Ga. (Albany HS)

Now that we are Minus 2 LBs from Spring Who gets the start? What is the rotation going to be like? How Dominate can we be at this position. we are very young but talented at this Position. Who is going to emerge as a stud this year?

Jack McCord - AQM - Harris

MLB Perryman - Young - Smith

WLB Kirby - Grace - McCray

SLB Armbrister - Owens - Jackson

McCord can play some SLB

Kirby can play some MLB

Perryman can play WLB

MIKE SMITH will be at LB do you think Trent Harris should get a look at olb?

Edit: I see rokulika thinks so lol

Not counting freshmen, I just don't see a whole lot to get excited about other than DP.

I guess the light switch might come on for McCord and that would be great, but linebacker instincts are usually just a natural thing. Armbrister, thus far, is just a guy. Kirby hasn't wowed me either. Grace would be great in certain places/situations, I think, but we'll see what he does for us.

We just need to get a lot better at LB, hopefully Owens and Young can inject some instinctual playmaking into to the mix. ******* Figs man..... wtf. So ****ed that he blew it over something so stupid.

This is kinda how I see it

DL:

Pierre
Chickillo
King
Hamilton
Moore
Kamalu
Heurtelou
Wyche
Thomas
Moten
Jenkins
Brown

LB:

Perryman
Armbrister
Kirby
McCord
AQM
Grace
Owens
Young
Harris
Smith
McCray
Jackson

that list is terrifying (not for the opposing team). Armbrister playing meaningful minutes = disaster.

McCord is a classic tweener. really nice athlete but has no home.

I like Grace but he is out of position in a 3-4

no one but Perryman has shown anything. combine that with huge ??? on the DL and you've got yourself a dumpster fire

perryman will make those linebackers around him better. its so nice to have a leader like that in the middle. go canes!

This is the weakest unit on the D imo. Luckily Perryman can cover some of those holes, but I expect even the Dline to play better then the LBs as a unit.

Light bulb will go on for Kirby this year.

Grace will eventually be one of our greats. Tough, fast, great football instincts.

The Millionaire has played s ton of football and will be solid for us.

And Perryman will kill 3 guys this year.

McCord is strictly a rush end or rush LB. Ask him to do anything else, and you're struggling.

Of the true freshmen, Young will be the most physically ready to play at this level.

Owens is a dude who will take time to adjust. Needs to channel that athleticism into becoming a better football player.

Forgot all about McCray. He doesn't get much conversation around here but LSU was trying to make a hard push at him. What's the skinny on him for those that have seen him play? Is he a pass rusher, good in coverage, all around, etc??? Will he take time to mature?

LSU was not making a push, He wanted to go to LSU and would have flipped if they wanted him. but him as an Player. He is hungry and Makes plays you dont have 214 TKLS 32 Sacks as DE in 2 years and not be good. He is Fast, Strong, Good Awareness. He is really a steal and im glad he wasnt Highly recruited. if he was here in spring i would have counted him in but with just Fall, i think he will red shirt. This 2014 class is special from Top to Bottom IMO

This. The front 7 frightens me.

wow. we are counting on 2 new starters with no D1 experience on teh DL yet the LBs are the weakest.

14-0
