If funny how certain schools think we are their heated rivalry when we see it as just another team to beat while on our journey to the promise land. When I think of renewed rivalries, Syracuse isn't one of the top three teams that pops into my mind. Check this out.

Macky MacPherson would like you to know that he really wants to beat Miami. So say we all.

Post-2003 Syracuse Orange fans might not realize this but you hate the Miami Hurricanes. I mean, you f***ing hate those mother-f***ing f***ers with a f***ing passion.

That's what happens when you play a series with another team and the outcome every single time is an ***-kicking. Seriously, between 1992 and 2003, the winning team won by 20+ points eight times. And it was usually Miami that was doing the winning.

SU center Macky MacPherson grew up a die-hard Syracuse fan, thanks to the fact that his grandfather was the head coach for some of it. And of all the things about joining the ACC, getting a chance to restart the Syracuse-Miami rivalry is one of the things he's most looking forward to.

Of course this is the part where Miami fans point out it was not a rivalry to them.

And then comes the part when Syracuse fans say, "66-13."

And then comes the part when Miami fans point out that was after the program was decimated by sanctions.

And then comes the part when Syracuse fans say, "We don't give a s**t."

And then, finally, everything feels normal again.

F*** Miami.

Somewhere in here you forgot the part where we counter with "59-0"

let me be the first to say.....

if this is a rivalry, it is only that to whom in which have done fornot the least.

The Crappy thing is that I don't believe we have a major rival that we play on a consistent basis. Yeah there was Oklahoma and Notre Dame through bowl games in the past but most younger fans aren't aware of that. We have Virginia Tech and that's about it, and they actually hate Virginia more than they hate us. I know people are going to say I'm crazy and that there's Florida state, but you ask any Florida state fan who their number one rival is and it'll be Florida every time. Granted we hate Florida the most (most of us) however we play them sparingly. Once we start winning again I'm sure I'll rivalry with Florida and Florida state will pick back up again, but until then it kinda blows being a third wheel IMO

This changes nothing for me. I've always deeply hated the Sara-excuse Orange Ladies.

They killed us two years in a row (1997 and 1998) and then it was back to blowing them out all the time.

I recall beating them 49-0 in 1993 and 59-0 in 2001 and I'm pretty sure they were decently ranked for both of those beatdowns.

Meh

When we're doing what we're supposed to be doing EVERYONE thinks they are our rival.

Thanks for the memories. I recall hating those guys when they had Donovan McNabb.

Slightly off topic but what do you guys think was a better receiving corps:

2001 - Dre Johnson, Kevin Beard, Ethenic Sands, Jason Geathers and a FR Roscoe Parrish

Or

2013 - Hurns, Dorsett, Scott, Waters, Lewis, Carter, Stacey Coley and Dmauri Jones

I realize it may be a heresy to say this but aside from Andre who was perpetually in beast mode I think we may have more talented players top to bottom in '13. (The running backs from '01 leave '13 in the dust though.) Hopefully, performance bears that out.

I think it's kind of heresy you mention Roscoe Parrish on the 01 squad, who was redshirted and didn't even play, and forget to mention Darryl Jones, who actually made some plays for us. Negged.
