Let’s play hypotheticals if SMU beats Clemson

*IF* Big if… Miami makes the playoff… I think Mario needs to/has to either fire Guidry or demote him and let Jason Taylor or Nicholson call plays.

At the absolute least you get to see what the other guy can do AND it mixes in some confusion for the opponent not knowing what to expect. Then the new DC has to do something different. Can’t just change the name and run the same thing and make the same calls or it defeats the purpose.

Against ND or Penn State, if it’s one of those 2, we could easily get up 14-0 before they figure it out and they’re not explosive in the passing game and it could be too late for them.

We can't be any worse with a NFL guy like JT running the defense.

Stop it, you make too much sense. This is an absolute great idea, so there is no way that Mario will swallow his pride and do it.

Seems like we need SMU to win. Texas beat Georgia, thinking this would hurt bama and ole miss cases because both beat Georgia. Penn State getting blown out by Oregon would help too. Penn State’s losses may be better than ours (including a blowout loss to Oregon in B10CCG), but their wins aren’t better than ours in my opinion.

Agreed. When you have Mario Cristobal on the sidelines and Guidry calling your defense, you are always at a disadvantage.
