An offense must have 7 players on the LOS with an eligible receiver on both sides of the line.

I could post 50 more screenshots throughout several games but I think this may be a big culprit in our lack of pass rush. We exasperate it by not having any speed rush DEs on 3rd and long and it’s hard to win with power when everyone but the center is lined up 2 yards off the ball. The NFL has been flagging these exact sets all season long and rightfully so.

crown of the helmet can't be any further back than the center's belt... this is too ticky tack to call.. you're talking about the left tackle moving his head forward by MAYBE a few inches...

this is definitely NOT the reason for our lack of pass rush...

and if it is, then we're not going to get any better at it because this is standard now...no ref is calling this...

So you’re telling me the slot WR is lined up on the ball and the RT is as well?

Thing is, at least in that screen grab, everyone is fine and lined up correctly with the POSSIBLE EXCEPTION of the right tackle. The RT looks...acceptable...the TE, though, is in the backfield, so you can usually compare/contrast.

Doesn't help that our D-ends are also lined up 1 yard back, at least fromt he standpoint of a speed or power rush.

Exactly. I don't see where the illegal formation is for this screenshot. Offensive tackles have been lining up farther back from the LOS for years now. I agree, it's ridiculous, but our guys do it too.

For the refs to call a penalty, the o-lineman would have to be lined up as far back as that TE is by the right tackle.

Find this centers belt language in the rules
The NCAA rulebook says an offensive player “is legally on his scrimmage line when he faces his opponent’s goal line with the line of his shoulders approximately parallel thereto and either he is the snapper or his head breaks the plane of the line drawn through the waistline of the snapper.”
