The Hurricanes will be welcoming an official visitor to campus this weekend.

CIS has learned that Camden (NJ) 3-star LB Tirek Austin-Cave will be in Coral Gables this weekend on his first official visit. The visit will take place from June 7th through June 9th.

"I’m looking forward to building a great connection with the coaching staff, getting to view the school itself as a whole, and talking up some football with coach (Blake) Baker," Austin-Cave said.

Austin-Cave is looking to make his decision before his senior season starts, which is why he wants to take all of his officials over the summer. He will take his 2nd official visit to West Virginia on June 14th weekend and his 3rd on a mid-week visit to Minnesota on June 18th, but a planned OV to Syracuse on June 21st weekend is unlikely to come to fruition.

"I’m most likely not going to go to Syracuse for an official, because it’s a 3 hour ride from where I live," Austin-Cave said. "So I’ll be taking my final two officials to Nebraska and Kentucky, most likely they will be in late August and early September."

The 6-1 205 pound prospect is a player that has continually risen on the Canes' board as they attempt to sign a big class of linebackers in the 2020 class. The Canes already hold one LB commit in Category20 from Largo (FL) 3-star AJ Mathis and will hope to make a move with Austin-Cave this weekend.

Austin-Cave recorded a 4.76 in the 40, a 4.53 shuttle time, and a 33.90 inch vertical at the Opening New Jersey Regional back in April. As a junior in 2018 for Camden, he totaled 162 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, and 3 PBU's.

Offers flying out at a rate I’ve never seen here before. It’s likely to put pressure on south Florida kids
I don’t think we’re trying to pressure kids as much as not wanting to get caught with out pants down.
The pressure comes when other kids commit and you here that local kids tried to later in the process and we didn’t hold their spot to honor the commits.

Dude, if we can't land this kid with that Top 5 and the playing time available here next season, we have a huge problem.

I like this kid a lot. He’s got the tape, measurables, and smarts to play at a high level in the ACC. The play at the 1 minute mark is what stood out to me. Dude sprinted like 60 yards to chase down what looked like an easy score for the kickoff returner. Mathis, Cave, and Flagg would be a solid haul but lacking the one elite player imo.
