Under shammon, we look good going into last month - giving us hope only to tank in the end. That's why we never won acc division. If golden wins final games no let down toward end of season. That in my opinion will define better coaching and moving in right direction. Opinions???

I predicted that we would win our last 3 games. The team has improved in defense and special teams. We know what the offense can be and I have faith they will get it together.

A young team should improve over the course of a season and we have.

Bye week helped. Golden giving the players more rest and time off (players coach players, watching more film, not hitting, etc) has helped.

This concept gets trotted out again and again. Hasn't the way this team keeps fighting through the fourth quarter - notwithstanding glaring depth and talent issues - all season long more than enough to "define this regime vs. the old"? Or the way golden recruits as compared to the Shannon era? Or the conditioning? Unfortunately, we can lose to anybody on any given day, but it will not alter the fact that golden has this ship on the right trajectory, particularly when compared to the woeful leadership of the prior regime.

Shhhh logic isnt permitted on this board

There is a diffrence in having the ship on the right trajectory and finishing strong. Obviously the program is in better hands. What we have not done in a long time is not fizzle at the end of the season, Golden years included. Let's hope our young kids don't hit the perverbial wall.

The key to finishing strong 1) getting our guys healthy again and 2)RUNNING THE BALL. Our O-line needs to step up and start playing physical. They need to take some pressure off of Morris and keep us out of the third and long type situations which Morris gets exposed in.

If we self impose I don't think you can judge Golden. The team literally has no reason to play at that point but I still don't see the new guys quitting like the Virginia game last year

I disagree. More often than not, young teams physically wear out as a season progresses.

If they manage to close out the season with four straight wins and go to the ACCCG, it would be a noteworthy accomplishment.

So we're not counting the epic quit jobs at K-State and Notre Dame? Those games didn't happen?

I disagree that the players quit. It was boys v. men, and we are not even close to competing at the level of K St and ND, particularly on the road. This team is ridiculously young. We have zero upperclassmen talent. It's a miracle they have done as well as they have. While everyone appears thrilled about our record, all of our victories (save Bethune) involved some combination of winning the turnover battle, lucky bombs, penalties from the opposing team etc... against poor football teams. Va Tech is terrible this year, and they were still in the game, despite turnovers, awful special teams play, penalties, and Logan Thomas missing wide open receivers. While their mistakes were especially glaring, our other victories involved similar breaks falling our way.

That said, i don't fault the coaches or the players, given their youth and lack of depth. What i wanted to see this year was the team playing hard all 4 quarters, and i believe they have in all the games, including our losses.

Keep this a secret please. Logic and Reasoning makes our fans uncomfortable.

Agreed. That bye week/Thursday night game was exactly what this team needed, especially after a brutally physical game against FSU.

I would be thrilled with 8-4 and 6-2 in the ACC. that is better than I expected preseason

of course the coastal is ****tier than expected but hey

Our guys quit after Dorsett dropped his eleventh pass in the first quarter. I can't say I blame them.

You suck at trolling.

The writing was on the wall. Our offense looked sharp before Dorsett started playing volleyball out there. Stuff like that is deflating.

What I want to see is how mentally tough this team is. In years past, last year included, we laid down more mentally than anything else. When that happens, players get tired more quickly, routes begin rounding out, and players aren't as physical leading to injuries. I absolutely believe in UTough, but I want to see if this team as the resolve to go along with it.
