With all the talk about Kevin Olson, Brad Kaaya & Malik Rosier competition / redshirt, why is there no news about Lassiter? Is he still in the mix for third string? Does his presence permit a redshirt for one of the others?

Gray crow had a decent Spring and is the 2nd string now...yes we are one play away from Gray Crow as Qb..no way Kaaya gets this offense and its plays in 3 weeks of practice this fall...talk all you want Kaaya never sees the field this year and that is a good thing for us...

I think by August you'll see our QB depth as:

Olsen
Kaaya
Rosier
Crow

Heck, even if it's

Olsen/Kaaya
Rosier/Crow

That's a better lineup at QB than we've had since the days of Kyle Wright and Kirby Fre.....oh crap. :p

KIDDING! KIDDING! IT WAS A JOKE! PUT THE TORCHES DOWN!!!!

Actually, Crow may end up starting .............. but I don't know what Div. II school it will be. Smart money says he transfers if he wants to play college football.

Sounds about right, the other thing that could very well happen, if Williams is out for the season or most thereof...he as well could end up elsewhere as a grad student - and would be a good get for a lot of schools. If that's the way it works out, heck I'd be happy for him and I bet the staff would be as well.

You know, I get the feeling that they recruited Crow to stick around. He's one of those "brick-layer"/"tire-pounder"/whatever metaphor kinda guys who I wouldn't be surprised to see hold a clipboard their whole career, graduate, and just be a positive influence on the program.

Never heard or read a bad thing about him, or seen any indication that he may transfer even with the new guys coming in. I personally hope he stays.

As soon as a new QB that has never played a lick of D-1 football commits this year. He will than be our new savior...
Posters just assume a QB gets on campus, gets his locker...gets under center and starts right away and becomes an instant hero and we are saved...

these young men have a TON of stuff to learn and prepare not only their bodies but their minds for big time D-1 Football..
Kaaya is coming 3000+ miles across the country that in its self is a big deal leaving his very comfortable rock star High school status to being just another recruit at Miami ,,,this is how coaches see him..JAG..until he hits the books, film, school work...etc...
Crow..make fun all you want he is not Olsen but is light years ahead of Kaaya...for how long who knows..for our sake lets hope he at least wows the staff enough to be a great insurance policy for at least this year....

Lassiter is this teams Spencer Whipple. If we need Lassiter a true freshman's shirt is getting burned.

It is absurd that we have not petitioned for Gibson to skip his senior year and play for us right now. Now, as in Saturday night. Slackers. Racists. Unacceptable. Unless of course his mom does not give Pete interviews, then he can go to **** with Olsen, Crow and Rosier.

The QB depth situation is directly related to the Shannon years. If we had any depth at all Morris would not have had to burn his redshirt year and we would have perfect symmetry with our quarterbacks. Across the roster we not only need to continue to upgrade but we need our depth spaced out properly, this was a major ***** up from the last staff.

Kaaya is better than Crow without knowing the plays.

I'm thinking the only way Lassiter plays is if every qb we have gets injured, including Dallas Crawford.

Bringing up Lassiter is like saying, "why doesn't Golden's nephew get any reps as a first team wide receiver?"

You might well be right, but I have not seen any practices, nor read any reports on Lassiter. That was the point of my inquiry. Has anybode who has actually watched practice, give an opinion? If so, what is it?

Everyone wants their program to have a Manziel/Squinston. Everyone also forgets that both of those guys redshirted, and think a true Freshman can come in and get it done right away (ala Hackenburg at Pedd St).

It's the infatuation with the new shiny thing, and wanting instant results as opposed to letting things play out. Society's obsession w/instant gratification.
