In LA for work and decided to stop by USC. Not nearly as nice as UM and it's in an awful neighborhood. Their stadium is massive and reminds me a lot of the Orange Bowl being in the inner city, looks like a dump from outside and has very limited parking. Pretty awesome place though and can only imagine the atmosphere on gameday. Encourage anyone that has the time while in LA to take it in for themselves.

I have to go out there for a wedding in October. The Canes have a bye that week which is perfect. USC is playing at home. I may catch a game out there since Ive never been to the Coliseum

I've seen one college game there. I thought it was the worst stadium to watch a football game I had ever been to.

Miami and USC are very similar in many ways being top tier, private schools in the middle of major metro areas. But while the U has a better campus, a newer athletic facility and better setting USC has the decided advantage of being the only football team in LA. Until the NFL comes back to LA USC is it for LA football. Also despite UCLA's recent success USC always has the pick of the litter for all of so Cal while we have to fight tooth and nail against FSU, UF and the $EC every year for south FL's top tier players.

Couple other similarities: everyone hates both and NCAA is after both. If only our administration wanted to be USC of the East instead of Harvard of the South we could have continued to dominate college football. Oh and maybe got a 100 year lease on the OB instead of letting it be torn down.

I go there for a game a year, atmosphere is good not great. I haven't been there to see a truly great USC team, as I moved out here 4 years ago, but I think they are limited by the empty end zone on one side that is always roped off. Kind of weird to see...even against Oregon or UCLA (been to one of each)...a huge chunk of seats just sitting there empty.

The tailgate scene is pretty damned cool though.

Saw USC absolutely destroy Arizona State during the Reggie Bush years, atmosphere (at that time anyway) was very similar to Raiders games, and witnessed a middle age dude punch a drunk ASU sorority girl and knock her out cold.

It was intense.
