DE that was recently listed the #1 player is Scouts Louisiana rankings said he plans on taking an official visit here.

Bama and LSU are his top 2 and have been but still, get him here and you never know. Not sure how much his effect on Tim Williams is either.

Thanks Pete. I was thinking more along the lines of Williams. Maybe if Beckwith picks Bama, Williams goes to LSU? But if he goes to LSU maybe Williams is out? People were wondering why LSU wouldn't he all over Williams (at least at first), maybe they only take one of these guys?

JHall I think Beckwith has a brother who plays at LSU. I'm thinking this smells more like a free trip to South Florida. It's so tough to get top kids from Louisiana when LSU wants them. They have no in-state rival to recruit against.

They've got 9 DE's altogether; 2 seniors, and 2 juniors in Mingo and Montgomery that could bounce with big years, so looking at it, they've probably got room for both Beckwith and Williams.......

To perhaps be in the mix for 2 of the top overall prospects in LA with where we are as a program is a testament to the staff's efforts on the recruiting trail. At some point, with improvement on the field, we'll start winning some of these OOS battles.....

I think CLF has nailed it. I have a brother-in-law who lives in Baton Rouge and follows them very closely. Every year it seems that they have great depth at almost every position, DE is no exception, which is why it made sense that Williams might be looking around if LSU was slow playing him. To my thinking all that changes if they make him a priority.

Talked to my Louisiana guy today and he said that it's LSU-Bama and Miami probably in third. He said that Beckwith is trying to add a 3rd and 4th team for visits...
