2010.09.17florida1-300x230.jpg

Just thinking .....

Why cant Al Golden and company (Blake James)
organize, a MIAMI HURRICANE FRIDAY NIGHT AT SUN-LIFE STADIUM
U-Day

With a focus on

1. Academic programs - Top University in Florida
2. Family - Showing some 3 penny production
3.History of South Florida
4.Team-work - Former player talk
5. High School JR.,SO.,FR

Yes I know I'm not the first person to suggest this
but I'm just thinking outside the box.....

ANY Rebuttal

He hosts his camps every summer and it's basically the same thing.

Just farting inside a box, part 6 of 2.

So we should copy a team with only three national championships and a fifteen years of winning history? I like Al's CAMP'S.. Plural "CAMP'S". No school at this level does as many. NONE! It's a TON of work. Most coaches don't want to put that kind of crazy time in. Al "get's it". They will build this community back into a fortress of recruiting. They are just beginning to pay off. In a few years everyone will understand what this does for us as a city and program. It's a slow but fruitful journey. IMHO If i wanted to be like uf i would call the campus police and focus on crime. I might see if we can get some boosters to adopt DT's. We might even want to fire Al and start looking for a banana sucking dumb *** as a head coach. Friday night lights is tired and old. It was cool for a few years ago when they were winning. WHEN we beat them they will want to expand their camps and be more like us.... Go Canes NOT A FLAME

What about adding one last session for "all-stars".....Kids that were MVP's/Top performers at previous camps?

To qualify you have to have

1) attended one of the 6 camps and participated (No-sideline guys)

2) Be named a camp MVP or be invited as one of the top performers from your position group

This might push a few more of the top talent to come to camp and show out, while also add even more fire to the kids trying to work for an offer/get noticed. Just a thought.

My son is a senior at the U and heads up programs for Hurricane Productions. He is working with Blake James to get a very special guest Friday night before the UF game to fire up the campus. I can't say who is the guest because it is not yet confirmed. Hopefully word will come soon.

Hey Stony! I really applaud your sons' effort to get that 12k student body wound up for the UF game. While it is awesome for the on campus crew, he needs to help Mr. Ross think outside the box and help fill Joe Robbie on a more regular basis. Updated soundtrack on the field? Maybe "Put on for my city" as the boys come through the smoke instead of a 20 year old Metallica song that most of these cats have no knowledge of. Maybe convincing of reducing the REDICULOUS game day parking fees. Help make it fun and affordable on a regular basis. The UF game won't be hard to get hyped for.

Disagree. The more the better, kids might not be able to make it to one and the other dates will allow them showcase their talents. Also in the case of Valentine, the multiple camps helped to continue to build a solid relationship with our staff. Look at FNL you have kids that can't get rides last second then they end up not visiting at all. & If "excluded" are camp to "superstars" only we wouldn't have had turner, Mayes, Herndon, Charles perry, etc commit to us. The camps are a good way to evaluate kids that are borderline on an offer, find unknown prospects, raise some money for whatever purpose, & build relationships with the recruits
