Are the staff able to renig on commitment acceptance/withdraw scholarships offers to players just as players are able to decommit from Miami? I’m asking, because with the way things are going... the staff may be in for a plethora of kids looking to get into Miami during the season and we’re already at 22 and probably 24 by tomorrow. I Went to a outing yesterday and one of the kid’s pop and I were chatting about his son, a 4-star player from the Central FL area, and he said his son sees Miami as place he’d like to consider but he wants to make sure. Then his father went on to tell the kid “You he better make a decision quick because there’s only so much spots they can fill.” So I ask again, if Miami already has 28 players committed and someone like Justin Flowe or Elias Ricks wants to commit... do you just say too bad? Or do you let go of Alvin Mathias for Justin and J. Hodges for Ricks?

they can tell guys to seek other places or drop them as we've seen before. miami is in a tough spot bc they cant really pull offers from guys that are local bc of the bad press it gives them

We are one of the pioneers of four year rides. Don’t know about before but if a kid signs and does what he’s supposed to in class and on the field, they are going to honor it.

As they should.
You may have misunderstood the post. We’re talking before a kid signs. Kids that have verbally committed for the 2020 class.

I think it just comes down to if you want a kid bad enough you find a way to get him on board.... If someone has to get dropped then that's the way it goes....

It doesn't play out like this. They need kids to make clear that they are serious about UM. If a Flowe wants in and signals it, then Miami will make room. Other kids may not want the competition and move along. But with early signing in Dec., you can rethink the qiestion. Once kids sign, we are set with them. There is no going back. So a top kid who waits until after Dec. to choose, we could run out of space for.

Usually schools prioritize recruits on their needs list by positions. They fill those needs and move on, telling kids to look elsewhere or not. If the don’t get #1 they sign #2. My kid was on a few lists. Recruited by FAU, but #2 on their list, they signed their #1. She was #1 at UNF and signed. It was all good. She Started all four years, the kid at FAU didn’t start until her SR year. Sometimes it works out for the best.

I think the timing matters a lot, if a kid signals in aug, sep or even early october the coaches can try to work with a committ to to push him out, but in november/december it would be a **** move, unless the kid has strong interest from comparable schools

Huh? What sport?

Quick answer is yes it works both ways....but chances are the 22-24 whatever how many we have committed or will have come Monday WILL NOT be the same 22-24 that sign on either of the NSD’s...There will be kids that de-committ ,can’t qualify, get pushed out by better players etc.
