I am extremely pumped for Phillip Dorsett's senior year. I think he will have a great off season and will be hungry.

Love Dorsett, but I don't think he's the type of guy who will excel with Ryan Williams.

The guy that I expect to take a huge step forward (if he keeps his head on straight) is Rashawn Scott.

Agree with dmoney. Dorset is a deep ball threat, I think his game needs a qb with arm strength. I think the TE position will see a lot more balls thrown their way. I'd like to see us hitting rb in the flat more too, duke Dallas and yearby are all good threats in the short game. I don't know what to expect from Scott. I think wr position is all about coley and keeping him upright for 14 games.

Good point. I don't think Williams has the arm to take advantage of Dorsett's speed unless its short passes where Dorsett has some room to run.

I am iffy on SCOTT I want coley, herb, phillip and Braxton and those TE's to go crazy...
but more importantly can we put schemes in to put them in place and for the love of God
have a qb competent enough to get it to them...this offense if none the less should be electric

We should be the texas a &m of the acc...no **** D but a lot of offense...

hopefully the D gets there...

If Williams starts Al will never play the young qbs or they aren't who we they were. Kearney effed up on their evals again...

Off topic but always wondered what kind of numbers T benj would've put up if a Healthy Stemo800 started instead of jacory.

And that is kinda the problem with Dorsett. He hasn't shown that he is precise or explosive out of his breaks. Also while very fast, it seems to take him a split second longer than you would expect to get to top speed. His initial burst while not slow by any means just isnt that of a game breaker.

That is a problem more so than Williams lack of a cannon. If Philip has to be 60 yards downfield to get open, Williams has no chance. You don't need a rocket. Steve Walsh had a noodle arm and it didn't seem to hamper him in college. If the read tells Williams the route is open, I'm confident he can get the ball there. We just aren't going to see the scrambling late 60 yard laser - thank god. If Williams shows he can go through his progressions, many people are going to be surprised how effective he can be. The deep ball will not be gone. It's going to be back in proper perspective, IMO.

Like the Rashawn Scott call. But I think although Dorsett will not be Williams primary target, he will be a huge weapon stretching the field. I think Warlord, Sandland, and even hopefully even Standish will be an integral part of Williams' game which will open it up over the top. we need a cognizant game manager to spread it even. Nice touch on the 45 yarder over the top to Herb @4:45...

Williams or Olsen will be upgrades all around. The throw vs NC St last year happens once in a lifetime. Just not practical.

hope the boy can stay healthy and he needs help from a possession receiver on the other side like Scott

The problem is this is against USF. We have yet to see Williams play against any real competition and look like he can still do that. I hope he can. I thought it was a solid pick up based on his numbers alone at Memphis in his freshman year. Now its time to see if he can do against some real competition this year.

Well the thing Im most excited about Williams is that we will be finally able to use the middle of the field, you know the 60% of the field we just seemed to have issues with working in our passing game the last two years. I just dont know how good Williams really is if he couldnt unseat an injured Morris. Still holding out hope for Olsen......

I think Williams arm will be fine to hit some long balls to Dorsett as long as he anticipates the throw.

Hopefully they're working on making Stacey Coley the focal point of the passing game, and he continues to progress. If Coley is used right, and Duke gets involved in the passing game as he should, opposing defense should have nightmares game planning to stop them and it should open up a lot of looks for the other WR's.

A lot of "if's" but a lot of potential
