It's like our boosters don't exist. OSU and Oregon were solid teams and then one booster donates
a ton and allows them to play with the big boys.

Miami has to come up with a better financial solution, otherwise the school will continue to
fall behind. I suppose winning will open wallets.

It wouldn't matter. They would divert the money to the "general" fund anyway.
 
The rich alumni donate to the school. They build bldgs libraries etc. can't hate on them it's One of the reasons as an alumni it's great to come back and see the unreal campus we have.

Do we have any boosters with the kinda cash Pickens has. I'm not talking about rich...I'm talking about wealthy.

Ya they have a bunch of them check the NFL and other outlets. We may not need one booster to walk in like Red and hand over 50 mil but if those guys all chip in we could easily have it. If they got a spokes person who walked into Donnas office and said here is 25 mill and its to all go to Football if not it walks then I don't see Donna turning it down. Also don't think she is dumb enough to say yes then throw it in the general fund and ***** any chance of getting more from others.

Yeah, Pickens could buy and sell all of them combined. Furthermore, athletes are notoriously bad at managing their finances. I've had a few as clients over the years and the way most of these guys spend $ on stupid **** would shock you. Lastly, many of them don't view the U as a place that they owe something to. Many do, but it's not universal.
 
The Rock is not Boone Pickens, or Phil Knight for that matter. Pickens is a billionaire. Schools generally know about their billionaire alumni without having to conduct an "advanced search" in the alumni database.
 
Unless we have someone rich enough and smart enough to perform the world's first brain transplant on B.F.A.G, then we's fcked.

I would bet that 3 failed hires have more to do with us falling behind than the myth that Miami doesn't have money.

u can donate to athletics if u only wanted to. the options they have are the student athlete scholarship, center for athletic excellence, other, or the BUC building fund. I'm also sure that the hurricane club donations go just to athletics as well.

we do have former athletes that donate back to us. we don't have the phil knights, marylands under armor ceo alum, boone, red mccombs, stephen ross. if we did then many issues u guys have problems with wouldn't be issues anymore.
