Not a very good start going three and out with three straight runs. That was obviously a sign of what was to come. Was NC St that good up front or what is wrong with the OL? Miami is going to have to do a better job at running the ball this week. If they can, Passing on that bad secondary will be that much easier.

Speaking of OL play...I still think that Seantrell is the best OL on this team and should be starting!

I know that Morris had a very good day, but when he threw that INT on such a bad pass from the 2 he got a little unsure of himself for awhile. I know that he had some big throws (some where all he had to do was throw up a punt) but he still missed Dorsett a couple of times when he was 2 steps behind the def.

At halftime Miami had forced 4 TO's and had 0 pts to show for it which is completely unacceptable. This board has started talking about winning the ACC Coastal and they won't with a stat like that. My wife was like "What's wrong with you, you keep telling me how bad they are and they are up 9 pts at half. That's not bad." Miami should've had 37 pts at half. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of the win but that shouldn't have been a game!

Highsmith should kick the **** out of Chick for tackling him after the fumble recovery!

E. Johnson is a beast! He is playing at a high level. Can't wait to get DP back and see what Kirby's got.

R. Scott may lead the team in dropped passes but how he caught that ball that bounced off the S facemask all never know (plus he had another one like that last week).

Losing the LS and Botts hurt ankle has hurt the punt team and I hate having the three LINEMAN as the last line of def. That will haunt them sometime.

I hate how even when the CB's look like they are in press coverage they immediatly start to back pedal instead of jamming the WR's. Is Fentress really the best option in their nickel package? I hate it when they move Green and Chick inside on 3rd downs because they just disappear inside. NO PUSH form those 2 in there.

Good thing the D is terrible! They give up a 16 yard run with 1 minute left so NC St thought they could all of a sudden pass and they **** up again and Finnie gets the INT!

How far can Morris really throw the ball! He threw that last TD 60+ and couldn't really step into it!

Also since I live in the middle of Missouri, I love the hot games because it is nice to see the cameraman zoom in on a couple of gils wearing next to nothing! Although I think I counted 12 people in on of the lower sections!

They better beat ND! I ******* HATE NOTRE DAME!

I understand where you're coming from. Yes a veteran team WOULD have out the team away yesterday. But we have a bunch of kids playing...learning...

That's just who we are. Enjoy their successes

They are not kids anymore. The halfway point of the season is here on Saturday. This is where coach and preparation take over to insure an successful remainder of the season.

Come'on AZcane they're not exactly grizzled vets either, still very much learning the college game. I'm disappointed when we lose no matter what, but my expectations as far as wins isn't too high because I realize that our team is young, our defense is terrible right now, and our running game is spotty. Just looking for us to see improvement in the play of the different units over the course of the full season.

This game should have been a blow out... we should have scored like 50 to 60 points easily... we need to slam the door shut and take the hearts out of some of these teams... I'm tired of these teams hanging around... I think the coaching staff needs to understand that our DNA is to score and to do it fast... I understand they want to control time of possession but we are not that team... I see that we do great in a 2 minute drill... I think we need to do a hurry up offense more often and march down the field and score... We are capable of scoring on any play... we are just that athletic... PD can take the lid off the top... Hurns moves the chains... when Scott stops dropping the ball he will have a ton of YAC yards for us... and DJ is just a baller... He is very sure handed... He needs to start in my opinion, he is also fast, really wish we could try him down field as well... We are not young anymore and AG has made that clear the huys he put on the field separated themselves from the rest and are much better than the upper class-men... No excuses... play ball.. GO CANES!!!!

bigpurk45 I think you're seeing glimpses of what we'll be going forward as our guys continue to gain confidence and figure things out on offense. So I agree that our athleticism should lead to quick scores, but it's great that we can ground and pound if we need to do so as we did in GT last weekend.

However, in order to blow teams out as you describe, Cane we've got to figure out how to stop somebody. I mean some of us are overlooking the fact that Glennon throw for over 400 yards himself, they had a back go over 100 yards rushing, and - in spite of the historic performance by our QB/receivers - out gained us on offense. Listening to the football tech guys on this board, it's clear that we are missing a few key pieces on the defensive side of the ball. So, I'm guessing unless the coaches change what we are doing defensively, we should expect shoot outs.

Has moving DEs inside on 3rd downs ever worked for any football team in the history of the sport as far as helping to generate pass rush? I've seen it be effective in having quicker guys inside for insurance once the pocket breaks down and QBs get scrambling lanes, but w/r/t generating pass rush I don't recall it ever working for anyone.

Only the NY giants, but literally all their ends are 6'5 260+

Walford doesn't drop that TD pass door is shut (if the ball hits you in the hands and you drop it that is on you period), Stephen was rattled after that and the O couldn't get anything going for a while.

Of course your D is going to give up big plays when NC State has the ball for 33+ min. 4 out of 5 TO (won't count the last minute heave) result in ZERO points. That **** is demoralizing.

That was not on Walford! That was a terrible pass! The pass to Asante should've been caught.

Bull f**kin S**t, that was squarely on Walford, should the ball placement have been lower, yea, but it hit him right in his hands & was very catchable

This is a Good point. An older team full of upperclassmen capitalizes and we go into half up atleast 33-14, maybe 33-7. It's the youth. Experience brings closing ability IMO.

Last year they lost the close ones. This year they are getting the close wins. Next year they will put other teams away early.

Patience people.....enjoy the ride. These last two games have been thrilling after having to watch the disaster in Manhattan. I'm all in and just happy as he'll that each week we are in serious contention for the W.

So he was about 6 yards away and threw a bullet about 7 feet high and Walford should have caught it? Not to mention he was wide open. Let me guess if it touches their hands they should catch it every time? Riiiiight!!!

Agree.

Nitpicking on a few deep ball in-completions is beyond retarded.

Do agree however that this game should have been over at half. 30-7 would've buried them

I know, I know, I know, 566 YARDS!!! But to be honest he had wide open WR's ALL DAY and he completed what about 53% of his passes!

I understand he had a good game! I just think WE, as a fanbase are starving for great QB play that WE are ready to crown someone! I hope he continues to improve on that Comp %.

Beyond that, what about the 2 times we lined up on punt team and only had 10 players on the field? 1 time Gabe Terry came running on late and the other time right before the 2nd one they showed him on the sidelines so he didn't make it out there on the other one.

By my count we should have had 40 by halftime because Wieclaw missed his second FG near the end of the half. 40-14 or maybe even 7 since the INT in the endzone gave them some momentum and they scored on that drive.

So he was about 6 yards away and threw a bullet about 7 feet high and Walford should have caught it? Not to mention he was wide open. Let me guess if it touches their hands they should catch it every time? Riiiiight!!!

Absolutely! It wasn't that **** high of a throw, so what he lasered it, the fact remains as you eluded to, if it hits your hands you have to catch it

This is just plain ignorant. If you asked Fisch, Golden, JJ, Butch, CJ and Morris himself....they would all say that was a bad pass. If Waldorf catches that ball he makes ESPN top plays.
