2014 JUCO LB Keeon Virgile is one of the many recruits who chose to go through the junior college route and cherishes the opportunity to be able to mature before going to a division one school.
“It’s been going great. I have some really good coaches that look out for you andmake sure you’re doing the right thing. It makes sure we are 100% grown men and we do some growing up here.”
Virgile is an inside linebacker for Nassau Community college and he is excited for the upcoming year for his team.
“Team looks great. I think were gonna comeback and have some upsets next year.”
The 6’3 240 pound linebacker is hearing from a couple schools mostly from Miami and Indiana.
When asked about the Hurricanes, Virgile cited the familiarity he has with the program from being a south Florida native.
“I really want to comeback down to the south. It’s a great school, I wanted to go there out of high school as well. I mean I’d rather be at home to tell you the truth to be with my family and my daughter.”
The JUCO pass rusher speaks with defensive line coach Jethro Franklin and likes the way he is very honest with him.
“He is real cool guy, very laid back and relaxed and he will tell you how it is. He’ll tell you if we show interest you’ll get it , but there is no guarantee.”
When asked what he will be looking for in the schools he is interested in, Virgile is mostly looking for a good connection with coaches.
“Where all the coaches are connected, like the coaches I have now. Like all the coaches are going to be on the same page.”
While Virgile is still searching for the Miami offer, there is a good chance he ends up a Cane if he gets one.
“90 percent chance I’ll end up there.”
Virgile had 54 tackles, 3 forced fumbles and one interception last year.
