Erick, someone may have already discussed this but I see this as a simple ingroup/outgroup thing. The members of this site are University of Miami football fans, this is part of our identity. Josh Jobe, a young man who was not only committed 2+ years but more than once voiced his 1000% commitment status, switched his pledge from Miami (us) to a rival (them) that we do not care much for. He did it during the same weekend that we are having our biggest official visit in the history of the program. He did it after our coaches traveled 100s of miles in the past few weeks to visit him. I'm sure you can understand how this is a slap in the face, a threat to the self of Miami fans. The question is, are you a Miami fan? We're not running a research firm here where objectivity reins supreme above all else. By congratulating Jobe, you raised questions about your commitment to the group. Now I get that you may be a journalist, but I don't think you will be viewed as a credible source on a fan message board if you are deemed to be outside of the ingroup. Might not be the right thing but it's human nature. Just my opinion.

Don’t forget the fact they flew up to CT in the summer to make sure everything was set so he will be prepared to enroll HERE and I’m pretty sure if they would’ve suspected any hesitation that they wouldn’t have flown up there.

I see lots of people going through mental hoops to excuse us losing another elite SoFla player to the SEC.

We will never be elite as long as this continues. Same people who excuse on field failures and blame the talent level then excuse poor recruiting.

When we land guys like Blades, Frierson, Hall, Ivey, and hopefully at least one of Campbell/Surtain/Samuel, then we're just fine. That's the opposite of "poor recruiting." It's when you miss on on guys like Tarvarus McFadden and replace him with Terrence Henley that you've got a problem.

Sometimes we're gonna be on the wrong side of a decision. South Florida is talent rich and every elite program spends time down here. Guys like Jeudas and Gosh Goob were always going to go to Bama, for one reason or another.

Negativity with a December 2017 registration date...seems legit.

Gotta land all 3 IMO.

Can't lose out on Jobe, and then lose out on two of Campbell, Surtain, and Samuel.

Worst kept secret of the entire recruiting season. Bottom line,kid has no affinity for south Florida, Miami, etc.. Doesn't feel the something special it is to be a Cane. I'm fine with him flipping. At least he didn't wait and do it the day before the last signing day like so many prima donnas have done in the past. Now go get someone better, like they did when Sitkowski flipped.

Thats the beauty of this early signing rule. It a legitimate gage who is really on board and whose not. I promise if this rule wasn't in place Jobe would of waited till NSD to flip on us costing to lose a chance to go after Samuels while wasting resources thinking Jobe is all in.

We'll be 100% fine since 2 and a half months is plenty of time to jump into the recruitment of a underrated/late riser prospect or a prospect who had legit interest in us earlier but turned else where because of being slow played. Plus we're in a hotbed so we really just have to hope the coaches talent evaluations skills (especially of 3 star prospects) are on point.
