Jizzle James: One that got away

Jizzle James, Dillon Mitchell and Shon Abaev (2025 commit) are all Florida kids who play for Cincinnati or will be playing for Cincinnati barring a coaching change.
In state recruiting has been an issue for quite some time. It's time to acknowledge that the state of Florida is producing some very talented high and mid major kids.
This should be a priority of the next coaching staff.

I've been saying it for years! There are 5 players ranked inside ESPN's Top 100 for the 2025 class that are from Dade & Broward. 11 from the state of Florida and that's not including the out of state imports playing at IMG, Montverde, West Oaks, DME, etc.

You don't have to tell me twice. I have been listening to it for years and you know I agree with you.
I like Matthew Able and I really like Shon Abaev also. I really think he will be good at the next level (college).
I never include the Montverde nor IMG kids because they aren't from the State of Florida but you have always been right in the talented kids from the State of Florida.
If the next Head Coach and his staff would build the program with more in state kids then he would find a lot of success in Coral Gables.
You have to build your foundation with the prep ranks then use the transfer portal to plug and play on the roster then you are building sustainable success.
Speaking of West Oaks, I posted a click on Marcis Ponder, that is a 6'11 monster. To be 286 lbs, he is more athletic than I imagined.
