There's an article on TOS about Jim Morris being on the short list of possible AD candidates.

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but what are everyone's thoughts?

I'm not sure if I would like that too much. To be honest, I think the guy should just retire.

If he does become AD, that would mean he would probably hire a new baseball coach from within (Arteaga, DiMare) and I don't think either of them are good candidates for the job of baseball HC.

I would rather keep Blake James (not that it would be a bad thing).

I believe someone posted that Morris is a good fundraiser. He could help groom Blake James in that area

I've got no problem with it.

And what's the problem with DiMare? He's a great asst and has been responsible for much of jims success.

Christ, " he's too old and senile to coach baseball, so let's make him AD". Typical Shalala.

Not sure if serious.

I appreciate everything Morris has done for us, but I think I'd rather go in another direction with this hire.

At work, so I don't have much time to search for it, but IIRC someone mentioned it.

I don't think Jimmy is done with coaching ball yet. we haven't had a successful season in here in a long time for Miami standards and I don't think Morris is ready to give up coaching with the recent taste of miserable disappointment losing to Stony Brook and not even having the ability to force a game 3 with UF in super regionals the past however many years.

There aren't many places that have the ability to recruit like Miami does, and if it wasn't for the cot **** draft every year, we would have been a **** of a lot better the past 3-4 years or so.

Some speculation about maybe Morris is too old and traditional and cannot manage the game in the new age; with all of the scientific statistics and keeping up to date with technology in the recruiting process .

Also have talked to a couple players on campus and they seem indifferent to Jimmy at the helm, where every bball player loves Coach L and every willing football player has a tremendous amount of love and respect for AG

I don't know enough to suggest it would be a good or bad hire, but on the bright side ... it'd be unlikely he'd dip as quickly as Hocutt and Eichorst did.
