So I was at All Canes today with a friend, and we were talking to the guy that works there, whose been there for years, and he was telling us that this is the last year that Nike will put player numbers on the jerseys. Starting next year the number will be the last two digits of the year.
What does that mean? Some years are going to be useful, like next year will be 15 which happens to be Kaaya's number, the year after will be 16, and the year after will be a return to 17, etc.
The reasoning he explained to us is that the NCAA is trying to avoid anymore potential legal battles over players and using their likeness including jerseys. I thought leaving names off of them was enough, but I guess not.
I just wanted to share that with all of you. I thought it was interesting, and for those who buy jerseys, you know what to expect and those who are waiting for next year- don't, I mean if you want a Duke or Tracy / Coley jersey at least.
