Don't blow this and try make the kid play a position he doesn't want to play so he picks a different school. If he wants to play corner, recruit him as a corner and see what happens once he gets to campus.Although Miami offered Pough as a corner, Coach Patke was the one to inform him of his offer. Miami, LSU, South Carolina, and Maryland are all at the top of Pough's list and he plans on visiting all four of those this off-season.
Well it says we offered as a corner. But alsoDon't blow this and try make the kid play a position he doesn't want to play so he picks a different school. If he wants to play corner, recruit him as a corner and see what happens once he gets to campus.

It wasn’t our cornerbacks coach that offered so who knows
little known fact, Richt wanted Jeff Thomas as a Defensive End. Diaz talked him out of it.I wouldnt put too much stock into what coach offers who. If I remember correctly Kul was the one who gave Jeff Thomas his offer.
You guys forget (or didn't know) that schools often make recruiting assignments by geographic region. Back in the late '80's Art Kehoe used to swing up by the D.C. area. He used to be assigned D.C., Maryland, maybe VA and Pennsylvania.I wouldnt put too much stock into what coach offers who. If I remember correctly Kul was the one who gave Jeff Thomas his offer.

When I lived in NYC a few years later Bob Karmelowicz recruited NYC.
Bob was originally from Connecticut and Art was from Philadelphia so they probably were assigned areas they were familiar with.
Curtis Johnson was also assigned Louisiana. He was from N.O. In fact, he recruited Marshall Faulk to San Diego State when he was on staff there (before he came to the U under DE. Dennis coached Curtis in college at one of those colleges in the Pacific N.W.)
I don't know if they still do it but the coaches would have geographic assignments but I'm sure position coaches and coordinators got involved as well.
I also remember Joe Brodsky, a RB coach recruiting Rudy Barber, an OL, out of Carol City. That was probably a geographic assignment. Joe was from Miami and an old HS coach in Miami.
Art recruited Richie Anderson, a RB from Maryand. OL coach on a RB. Obviously a geographic assignment.
That's why it might be foolish to blame lack of success at one position on just one coach, even if the position coach. Like CB on Mike Rumph. Could be multiple contributors to a *****-up.
