Can somebody give me a scouting report on jermaine grace. What impact would he have as a freshman?

Looks like he has come a long way since last year. Not a knock on him but he looks bigger and more physical, to match his fluid play. Looks like a really good one.
 
I really liked him in the televised game on ESPN earlier this year. He's going to have to learn how to bang between the tackles a little bit more instead of slipping everything and get stronger in the weightroom, but he was around the ball/tackle almost every down. Football player. I don't think the Beason comparison is that far off, though I'm not sure he'll get that big.

anyone seen Grace and Skai play in person, and can you give your opinion on whos better and why? Everyone that i've heard has seen Skai play says he's been the best player on the field.
 
Grace is big, strong and fast. Rumors that he is soft or not big are BS. He will have a nice career at UM.

Grace is not big. That´s pretty much the only knock on him. Although I´m sure he can get up to Beason´s size. Jon´s hardly a Mack Truck.

kid looks like a future stud to me but may not be immediately ready a la Matthew Thomas...even Jamal Carter I think will be playing right away

You sure? The NFL still lists him as 237, and even 240 is hardly big for a LB.

Beason was in the 200-205 range when he came on campus, iirc. Is grace even 200 LBs?

Yes, well last time he checked in he said he was 206 I believe.

And I'm telling ya, if those other guys don't start getting better in coverage, Grace can see the field early. He honestly looks smoother in coverage than any LB on our roster. I know it's high school and different schemes etc, but I wouldn't count him out personally, even though we look to be deep at the position.

So he is ripped and could star on Whorechant, big deal. Doesn´t mean he is big for an NFL LB, which is the point at hand.

Grace told me he was 211 when I spoke to him today. He's still very lean, and has room to add weight on his frame.

He's a good read and react run defender, and very smooth in coverage. For a unit that struggles so mightily in pass coverage situations, he could see the field early in 3rd down/passing situations.

What are you talking about? The average weight for an NFL LBer is 240 lbs. Patrick Willis is 240 lbs and you can't tell me he's hardly big..
